Mark Masters @markhmasters
Dillon Dube wore non-contact jersey on Monday, but expects to be in the lineup v : "I'll be ready to go for Wednesday ... just playing it safe"

Coach Ducharme: "We want to make sure when the tournament starts he's 100% not 95% ... if he's 95% we'll keep him out Wednesday"

No they wouldn't. They're not Canadian so they're ineligible.

Dube is an exciting prospect. Seems like a very promising middle six forward.

Canada, USA, and Finland played exhibition games yesterday but Dube, Fox, and Tuulola were scratched.

Canada crushed the Czechs 9-0. USA crushed Belarus 14-0.

Valimaki did play for the Fins in a 4-2 win over Switzerland but had no points. The game wasn't televised/streamed and very little media coverage for the Fins this year in the pre-tournament so hard to get a read on how well they played.

It looks like the Americans are planning to pair Fox with Ryan Lindgren (who was also scratched last night). The two have been paired for a couple of practices and played together while in the USNTDP and projected to be USA's top pairing in the WJC. Lindgren is a 2016 2nd round pick of the Bruins.

Also of news is that Buffalo has released Alex Nylander to Sweden. This means Lindstrom needs to survive 3 forward cuts to make the team.

It's weird, I haven't seen any news on the team Russia roster yet. Just a hockey news article on who they think will be playing.

Tonight two exhibition games:

Sweden vs USA. 5pm MT hockeytv.com (pay subscription)

According to the Swedish media Lindstrom will center a line of Elias Pettersson (Van 5th OA 2017) and Lukas Elvenes (Vgk 127th OA 2017). While I doubt that will be an actual line once the tournament stars, it is a pretty big opportunity to show some chemistry with one of Sweden's top offensive players. Sweden appears to be scratching Alexander Nylander and Lias Andersson.

Not confirmed yet but it is expected Fox will play tonight in USA's final pre tournament game

Canada vs Switzerland. TSN 5pm MT.

As noted previously Dube will be playing tonight. First chance the projected #1 line for Canada will play in game conditions. Should be fun.

James Duthie says that Dube or Clauge will likely be captain for the Canadians.

Also missed a 3rd game Finland vs Czechia.

Both Valimaki and Tuulola playing. Valimaki paired with Heskinanen (Dallas 2017 3rd OA). Tuulola listed on the 4th line according the lineup sheet.

That was a crazy effective PP with Dube leading the charge. Almost full 2 minutes in the Switzerland zone including a full line change with the Swiss hemmed in, leading to a goal.
