The Nucks made the most of their limited opportunities and cashed in on them. That to me was the difference.

Offensive zone pressure was great. Except, when a guy like Kulak pinches a forward has to be aware of what is going on and cover for him. To me that goal was a back breaker.

Not that it changes what happened... but it was also another horrid game from the stripes.

Not calling that interference call in the 1st but calling a penalty on the ensuing rough stuff was inexcusable.... as was the "missed" slash on Versteeg in the 3rd.

There's no way they missed those, they are just negligent at their jobs.

I’ve never really said all that much about GG, but he has to go. Rolling 4 lines and making no adjustments time after time is unacceptable. I can take a loss, and we should have won tonight outside of an off night for Smith, but this team is not going to take it to the next level with GG behind the bench. Time to hire a coach with some pedigree and results. No more of this.

His refusal to pull Smih tonight after the third goal reminded me so much of the playoffs. Game was still there for us, but he just won’t make a move.

Brodie and Hamilton were awful tonight. They need to step it up. A turtle would have beaten Brodie in a race on that 3rd goal.

GG needs to stop playing Bart and Kulak so often. Kulak needs to know when to pinch and when not to. The 5th goal was his fault.
That's debatable. He made a pinch but had no support. I was more mad that Bartkowski didn't dive to try and stop the saucer pass we all knew was coming. Instead he just looked at Sedin waiting for it to happen.

Throw out your books...they are wrong

Tanev making a save with his head whilst laying in the crease tells you everything you need to know about this one.

They had great goal tending and some damn lucky breaks. It happens.

Smith didn't look right, either hurt or exhausted or whatever. Doesn't matter, anyone could see he was off. Team was flat, needed a spark. This is bush league level stuff that GG can't get right.

Canucks had a few lucky goals, markstrom made some big stops though flames lacking any real killer instinct played into that.

Bartkowski played that 2 in 1 about as uselessly as possible. Really dislike the player.

Brodie had an ugly mishap on the sh goal.

I wonder what the flames record would be on this homestand if it weren't for tired opposition and back up's.

Really disappointed. Played well to great for much of the first 40. Then it was ugly.

You mean to match the explaination you gave?

The thought of pulling your best player in a tied game is no only ridiculous it’s down right stupid.

There is your explaination.

To be quiet honest - what have the Flames done since 89? It seems like an Oiler thing to do by posting the 0 cups thing.
Did we watch a different game?? The flames were without a doubt much better.

Flames played a terrific game, just came up against a hot goalie. It happens.

Bit of an unfortunate one - Flames the better team IMO but all the bounces ended up in our net for the Canucks.

Most nights that’s probably a 4-2 Flames win.

I sit up in the PLs. You could see what was going to happen on that rush about 2 seconds before it happened. Bartowski has slow foot speed and when you combine that with a low hockey IQ, it’s not going to lead. To good results.

Actually one thing I will say is Bennett shows moments where he gets how to find that next level, but too many times he goes back to trying far to much on his own. He's got line mates that can have strong possession games and he try's a low percentage shot or deke in at odd times. I did like his play on the power play goal, but I think he needs a game or two sitting to see what his linemates can do.

We could have another 3 if it wasn't for the stellar play of Markstrom. Somtimes a team will run into a hot goalyender and lose a game they should have won. Not worried.

I don't remember but were people bashing Hartley for not making adjustments?

If at the end of the season these two points separate the teams, those books will look pretty correct. How many of us will remember outplaying the Canucks in a month? Two points are two points, how they were earned is 100% irrelevant.

I get what you are saying and you have a strong case, but they scored more goals and won the game. How they did it doesn't really matter.

Getting the 2 points always tells the correct story then. Got it.

I think not pulling the goalie is the new trend.
