He would have to go to a team that has a strong central leadership in place, to take the prima donna attitude out of him.
The most obvious fit is Montreal, but apparently the coach hates Russians, so that's a no-go. I can actually see Nashville shipping some salary out, and taking a flyer. Even if it's only to keep Pittsburgh from using this guy to fix their centre depth problem.
He could go to the Isle, as well. It will be interesting to see what happens.

FWIW, Brouwer has a modified NTC with 15 teams he cannot be traded to.

Does he create his list at the outset or at the time of a trade request by management? In any event, he's playing on the bottom line. Absent being sent way up north, he might be persuaded to go to almost any team.

Also, if he made the list at the time he signed his contract then no chance Vegas is on it.

He has a full NTC this season. It turns into modified NTC with 15 teams he cannot be traded to for the last 2 years of his current contract.

The player they selected from us was a UFA and could have been had for 'free' after the draft, so I think my point still stands.

There was clearly more to the Engelland pick than just them wanting him on the team. Yes they could have waited, but having a Vegas resident on the team at the roster unveiling was probably a pretty big deal to the owner.

He's the kind of player I can see Edmonton picking up. Ignoring their true needs and adding elsewhere. If he doesn't completely look out of place, start working on shipping RNH out

Allowing permission for a player/agent to find their own trade is code for zero value.

Even more than that, they wanted a player (and his wife) who knew the city who could talk to the new guys (and their wives) about the best neighbourhoods to live in, which schools to send their kids to, and things like that. They wanted to have Engelland available to do that right away and not wait 2 weeks.

Shipachyov has been suspended for leaving the Chicago Wolves:
Eric Engels ✔@EricEngels
Vadim Shipachyov has officially been suspended by @GoldenKnights for leaving the AHL’s Chicago Wolves.
Eric Engels ✔@EricEngels
Expectation is that if Shipachyov isn’t traded by as early as tomorrow, contract termination/a return to Russia could happen in short order.

Obvious the guy just wants to go back to the KHL at this point.

It's hard to blame him. Despite averaging 10 mins/game TOI and zero pp time in his three games; he had 1g, +3, and went 57% on face-offs. He's a highly skilled KHL all-star and Gallant/McPhee didn't even give him chance to prove himself.
On top of that, his ex-linemates (Panarin and Dadonov) are being gifted ice time and quality linemates.

Well, Shea Theodore is stuck in their AHL org too. And he's clearly too good for the A.

What McPhee is doing to Theodore isn't right either, but that's a slightly different situation. Theodore wasn't a sought after, veteran free agent.

I hear ya. Obviously he values guys like Will Carrier and Tomas Nosek more. Why is mostly beyond me.
It is very shady that they gave him a fat contract only to rot down there.

Bet if he was a good ol Canadian prarie boy from Saskatchewan you wouldnt blame him. Its a joke how management has treated him. Promised him a spot than throw him in the AHL.

I really wouldn't mind this guy on the team. Sure he's not handling things perfectly but I don't think the blame falls squarely on him. He clearly has talent and I think he'd do well in the right situation, the Flames need more skill on the team so maybe something can happen.
It just sucks that LV can't really take any roster players back. The Flames need to find a way to shed 2-3 players (Stajan, Brouwer, Bartowski, Glass, Versteeg...) so they can keep Janko up and add a player like this guy.
