I hope that Jankowski-Bennett-Lazar line is effective. At the very least, they should have no problems if someone gets thrown out of the faceoff circle.

I thought the whole reason why he wasn't called up was because there was no fit in the top 9. If Jankowski is being slotted on the 4th line, why wasn't he a callup sooner?

I think that once you get past the top two lines, ice time depends mostly on how much special teams play there is. Lots of powerplays and you will see Versteeg and Brouwer with third line ice time because they play on the first unit. Lots of penalty kills and Brouwer and Stajan have earned that ice time. If the game is mostly 5 on 5 then I think the Jankowski line (glad to be able to type that) will get their fair share and not be playing ~10 minutes or anything like that.

Well bennett and Lazar aren't really 4th liners either.. I don't mind it

Because they had 4 C's in front of him by forcing Bennett to Center the 3rd line.
Now with Jagr out, they move Bennett to the wing and free up a slot at C. I think that listed "4th" line will see more time than the "3rd" line if the 3 kids can get some confidence built up.

Just because reporters list one line ahead of another does not mean that line will definitely receive more or less ice time.
Seems pretty obvious which of those lines is the third and which is the fourth no?

Perhaps the order the press is tweeting the lines in is not representative of which line is what number, nor of how the coaching staff plans to utilize the lines in the games. Something to consider at least.
