4th line for Van looks to be the Sedin replacement line for this game. Other than that, thats pretty much it for Vancouvers roster, save maybe Goldobin making the team.

I feel like this game is not all that meaningless. The last few years the flames haven't gelled at the right time and struggled in the preseason and by the time the season started it seemed like they weren't ready. I'm hoping for a great performance and hopefully they will have alot of confidence when they play the oilers opening night.

What about Thomas Vanek and Loui Eriksson?

Is Eriksson not the Sedins winger?

And yeah, Vanek, probably uphalls spot?

Goldobin could be replacing another guy on the 3rd line.

Going to be really pissed off if Janko isn't playing on opening night, not going to overreact to this lineup but if I see Stajan and Brouwer in and Janko out on opening night I'm gonna lose my ####

Didn't Jankowski play in all preseason games so far?

I wouldn't be surprised if the Gulutzan is resting him for one game.

His play this pre-season IMO was better than Monahan and Tkachuk when they made the team in their respective years.

Resting Jankowski for one game is fine, but he had better be in the lineup for the last preseason game and opening game against Oilers.

My gut is Jankowski survives final cuts, but doesn't dress on opening night in Edmonton.

Let the crazy game go buy without a rookie in hostile territory and then work him in for game two or three.

My gut also says that will cause a lot of trouble on this website that day

Thought he was playing. So missing are Horvat, Sedins, Eriksson and Vanek for the forwards. yeah the 4th line is AHL fodder. still 2 players to cut to fit them in too. Guessing Upshall and Dorssett.

If Bennett can start driving possession forward a little more than last year I don't have as many qualms about the third line as some, and I fully expect him to. Ver steeg is a smart player and as long as Brouwer doesn't have to carry the line forward he can be what he is successfully, a fairly smart player around the net.
They aren't going up against top lines and top pairings. I think they can flourish.

With all due respect, a young guy isn't the only option. A trade is also an option. Treliving has had all summer and could have had a backup plan other than Bartkowski.

I'm very happy with our D but Bartkowski needs to be off this team. Id take wotherspoon and kulak over him any day. At least they don't make glaring errors every shift.

Also, Jankowski not playing tonight is a positive to me. I think they've already decided he's made the team and want him to rest and then let him play the last pre season game and then get to start the season as a Flame.

Would be very shocked to see Jankowski not make the opening day lineup.

Of all of the rookies, he has had the best camp.

Out played quite a few of the veterans.

4th Line in my opinion Stajan / Jankowski / Glass

Hamilton & Lazar are the extra 2 forwards but don't dress.

If Brouwer can come in and be vintage Brouwer that will make a HUGE difference. A 20/20 guy who can crash and bang would be great on the 3rd line. Supposedly he’s in great shape, has no injuries and is motivated. I’m pulling for him, hopefully he doesn’t disappoint this year.

Out of reach baseball game only in 6th inning so I bet this game starts only on SN1 instead of realizing nobody cares about the out of reach baseball game.

Baseball game moving to SN360 at 8:00

A rare smart move from Sportsnet
