They are probably hoping someone will grab him. If not then he will stay up with the team. Waivers basically means they can send him down anytime within 30 days I believe.

It is reverse of last year's standings until November 1st. Vegas is inserted into 3rd spot per CapFriendly. Flames are 17th until November 1st.

Pierre LeBrun @PierreVLeBrun
Among those on waivers today: Mark Fayne (Edm), Jayson Megna (Van), Dylan McIlrath (Det), Jack Campbell (LA), Robin Kovacs (NYR)...

Pierre LeBrun @PierreVLeBrun
Others on waivers: Warsofsky (Col), Coreau (Det), Lashoff (Det), Lorito (Det), Street (Det), Auger (LA), McCormick (Ott), Bachman (Van) ...

Pierre LeBrun @PierreVLeBrun

Looks like the Flames will use tomorrow as their final waiver opportunity.

Kovacs? He's 20 years old and has one year in the AHL. Buyout? Looked like a good prospect until last year where he wasn't very good at all

Read from a beat writer it is unconditional waivers, so likely mutual termination. Apparently he is going back to Europe.

Interesting. I bet some teams will have interest however if he's going back to Europe maybe he doesn't have interest of playing here.

Funny that even with all the injuries edmonton has on D Fayne still can't crack the lineup. What a bad signing that was. So 3.6 cap hit normally, 2.6 cap hit to play in Bakersfield.

Kovacs has gone through a massive scoring drought. He was a stud goal scorer in Europe and it never came around in the AHL.

And his preseason was pretty bad this year by all accounts. Sounds like a case to of home sickness.

Pokkas game peaked a few years ago. I don't think his story is much different than Wotherspoon at this point.

Fayne 2.6M out of his 3.6M cap hit stays with Oilers. What a good rule not allowing teams to bury their contract mistakes in the minors

So, Vegas still hasn't done anything with their massive glut of defencemen? That will be an interesting waiver wire tomorrow.

Leafs have put Kerby Rychel on waivers.

Flames were scouting him heavily 2 years ago when the Blue Jackets put him on the market. Of course a lot has changed since then, and they may no longer be interested.

I'd still be interested... but he'd have to clear and then I'd want to make a trade (to clear a reserve list slot) not interested in a waiver claim on him.
