Well, apparently that Zawaski guy is really reliable. So Sharp to the Hawks is pretty much a done deal.

I just hope that the free agent is on a 1 year contract.
The player is likely going to be old, so it wouldn't be smart to go longer than 2 years.
Next year's free agency is full of younger and higher end forwards.
Rick Nash
Henrik Sedin
Daniel Sedin
John Tavares
Evander Kane
James Neal
Bryan Little
Patric Hornqvist
James Van Riemsdyk
David Perron
Mark Stone *edit: RFA*
Kyle Turris
Cameron Atkinson
Many are likely to re-sign with their teams, but overall, it's a much younger and better group of free agents.
Please leave some cap space for next year.
Jagr might be the best player that is willing to sign a 1 year contract.
I doubt Marleau, Vanek, etc would be up for it.

That's fine.
Gaudreau - Monahan - Ferland <- Line had 2 point per game players and a 40 point player over 20+ games together
Tkachuk - Backlund - Frolik <- The 3M line...nuff said
Versteeg - Bennett - Lazar <- two guys 22 and under with speed and tenacity with a solid skilled vet
Hamilton - Stajan - Brouwer <- Not spectacular but, it's a 4th line
That's a full and decent forward group, then you have the following young players pushing for jobs:
Hathaway, Jankowski, Foo, Shinkaruk, Klimchuk, Poirier, Pribyl, Mangiapane, Lomberg
Flames don't really NEED to sign a vet forward. If they can get a cheap vet on a short term deal who actually improves the roster, great...but if not they still have a solid group with lots of prospects pushing up from underneath.

I thought Sharp was a nice fit and thought the Flames would get him after hearing some of the reports today.
I wonder if they look at Cammy as a plan B?

Boo. Troy Brouwer was signed two years too long.
On second thought, he was signed 4 years too long.

If you look at the list of people someone follows, it displays in reverse chronological order from when they started following that person. Millions and Pascall are both low on Sharp's list.
He's probably been following Pascall since Pascall's days with Hockey Canada. He also follows a lot of different media people.
Also, going by that, Bollig is the person Sharp has been following on Twitter the longest.

Jagr would be really cool to have on the team. I don't see a real downside but it's a moot point as he'd never come to a Canadian team as he's purely a highest bidder type guy. The Canadian tax situation does not help in maximizing his net dollar earnings.

90% of those players will be re sign with their teams and the other 10% will likely be traded because their team will sucking(Neal, the Sedins) and their teams will looking for picks and the team that has given up picks will re sign them.

Years ago he was quoted as to wanting to play for a Canadian team before it is all said and done. I always pictured him in MTL for some reason, but yeah I would take him here in CGY no problem.

The Flames will have the Stones to make a gutsy playoff run in 18/19 if they can pick him up.
