This has been brought up and debunked about a dozen times since Smith signed.

Look you bunch of weasley punks

Johnny Bower played til he was 45, starting nearly every game in heavy we leather pads and no mask. And he probably had some terrible malnutrition problems and he was still better then most of the sissy's that play today.

Terry Sawchuk played for dern near 20 years and the only thing that stopped him from playing another 20 years was death.

Lester Patrick ye gods, now there was a man's man, he came out of retirement at the age of 44 to lead the Rangers to an over time victory,

Gump Worsley, I'm sure none of you punks know who he is unless you go on your fancy phonomogigs and look him up on the world wide Interwebs between your pornography and your cats on skate boards videos, but he played until he was dern near 50, and he was a fat guy. He trained by eating turnups raw and look at what he did.

You young folks, don't you know that 38 is today's 15.

38 you kidding me, he's still learning to drive.

Luongo and Thomas managed to backstop pretty successful teams at/after 35 years of age. It's not unheard of whatsoever. Question is, what can Smith do now at 35 behind better defence and lighter workload? I think he runs away with that starter spot and doesn't relinquish it as long as he is here, unlike the last handful of starter hopefuls.

Gump Worsley used to show up regularly at Toe Blake's Tavern in Montreal after games to drink beer. He had his own seat.

Oh come on, I'm sure Pat "type of stuff" Steinberg had a fresh and unpopular opinion to offer.

Who am I kidding. The only time you get a firm opinion or bold prediction out of those guys is from the morning crew.

Have I mentioned how much Rob kissing Bettman's behind on air and being way too nice with Spector irritates me? Can't believe they let that guy get in subtle jabs and audacious fanboy drivel on Calgary air and not reciprocate in kind. It's embarrassing sometimes. I guess they're all afraid to get a talking to from the boss to spice up their program.

Hamonic now in the building, should be starting relatively soon (hopefully not on the Ken King arena development timeline)

News Update

Calgary Flames @NHLFlames
Hamonic will wear #24 - "with Conny's blessing!"
