San Jose is wasting some great goaltending from Jones. He's been as good at Talbot if not better, but the Sharks aren't giving him any goal support. A lot of lapses in work ethic and tenacity, which is a head scratcher cause they're great when the team is going. A shame to see. But hey, prove me wrong.

What's the decision? Without him they would join the Canucks for mediocre rosters that are going nowhere. They have to sign him even if it's going to take a 7 year deal because without him that team could be in the cellar for a while. Weber helped but they are missing a game breaking forward. IMO they should be offering Sergachev + for Matt Duchesne on the condition he signs an extension with the Habs. Montreal needs to win now while Price is still in his prime as he's turning 30 this summer.

It would be interesting to see. I don't think they can wait until the trade deadline because of the optics of abandoning a season mid way, and I don't see him re-signing there.

His contract isn't going to be as crazy as some people think it's going to be just because he's getting out of Montreal and that's an instant significant raise.

Hard to say as top goalies in their prime don't get traded very often.

Here is the Luongo deal back when he first went to Vancouver:

2006-Jun-23 Traded from Florida Panthers with Lukas Krajicek and round 6 pick in the 2006 draft (Sergei Shirokov) to Vancouver Canucks for Todd Bertuzzi, Bryan Allen, Alex Auld and conditional pick in the 2007 draft

That's a very underwhelming return at the time. Bertuzzi was damaged goods, Allen was a 2nd pairing defensive Dman and Auld was a below average goalie.

Getting Price would be unbelievable though. Western Canadian guy originally from BC, but Vancouver is just going into a rebuild and Calgary is just about to contend with a huge gaping hole in net. Would be a perfect match.
