Dougie Hamilton is a big boy, I am sure that he can handle someone thinking that he isn't smart. This was meant to be a private conversation that for one reason or another got onto the internet, it isn't cause for someone to be fired.
I mean it is someone with a family and who needs a job for their livelihood, the false outrage over someone being marginally offended is ridiculous.

What a nothing story. If this happened in the middle of the broadcast, guys talking like that, then okay I could understand some of the reactions. But a few guys talking about the game, not knowing they're being recorded? So what?

With this person being call "Mr. Flames" you'd think it's someone within the organization or someone with close tie's to the Flames, and in that case he shouldn't be allowed in the Dome. I'd rather not have the negative energy in or around the organization.

Again, just my own opinion, but I really think that was just Garrett trying to defer that yokel's opinion to the voice of the Flames, Mr. Rick Ball, who hadn't said anything before that Mr. Flame comment. I'm convinced "Mr. Flame" was just Ball, and not some mysterious other person we're trying to place.
The only person who said anything bad was that random yokel who I bet is just part of the behind the scenes production team, chatting up the talent after the game and airing his frustration at them, which both Ball and Garrett seemed (rightly) hesitant to respond to.

Like actually screw Greg Wyshynski dragging Ball and Garrett's names through the mud when he can't even prove that it was them. I'm no fan of Garrett, but he's had a long career in broadcasting and even though he can be annoying he certainly doesn't deserve that. Ball on the other hand is the best play by play guy we've had for quite a while, he and Hrudey are a pleasure to listen to.

Except that no one was saying anything that wasn't true. It was three guys having a conversation without knowing that he mics were on, it sounded similar to the conversation I had with my friends after the game because we were all frustrated at the result after they had played well for most of it...by the sounds of it those guys were feeling the same frustrations we all were after that one. There's no "bad energy" if anything I would say that if the players were feeling just as angry and frustrated then it's a good thing for them to have the motivation to move on from that and win at home!

I said some things during that game that would definitely get me fired if I was in the media. However, I'm not and people say things out of frustration after their team loses. I consider myself a passionate fan and sometimes I say things that aren't appropriate. I think actually saying Hamilton is not very intelligent is crossing the line. It was a dumb penalty for sure and I don't know what he was thinking. As far this little clip, no big deal.

But they said it without the knowledge that others were listening, which makes them horrible monsters.

Although HD hasn't posted since late in the third... perhaps he's locked up somewhere in the bowels of Honda Centre?

Once again I could care less about them calling out Hamilton for a bad penalty (which shouldn't have been called to begin with), it's the person attack on his intellect that I have a problem with. The Kid is only 23, which is something people tend forget about.
