Yeah these prices are insane. By the finals greens will be $500 a ticket face value. It's nuts. If the flames make round 2 and don't play Edmonton I expect tickets to be easier to come by on Ticketmaster just by virtue of the prices being prohibitive.

I'm not sure round 2 is going up that much.
I have a game pack in the green section, and for me it was $116/ticket, FV for the general public is $129. For round 2 my price is $135/ticket, so I'm thinking $150 or so for the general public?

Prices are pretty ridiculous. If its anything like previous playoff they’ve go up 25-30% each round as well! I think there’s going to be lots of tickets to go around at these prices. I’m a die hard, only missed games 4 and 6 in the 2004 finals (because you literally could not get tickets) but been at every other home playoff game since 2004 and I’m even questioning the $250/seat for blues in round 1.
Pretty sure we paid $100 for nosebleeds in the 04’ finals off ticketmaster.

Just checked my 2004 Red 2 ticket stubs
$100.00 round 1
$115.00 round 2
$138.00 round 3
$165.50 round 4

I did some digging and sportchek tickets were $75/each in the finals. Now that was 13 years ago so maybe not a great comparison.

Buddy of mine got drawn. Prices seem more expensive than in 2015. Maybe I'm forgetting, but will get a better value if I watch at home once you figure in gas driving to the game, food and beer once at the game.

By round 2 in 2015 there were already empty seats. You could buy entire rows right before puck drop. Everyone was wondering how bad it would look, but fear not the Flames had people doing coordinated dancing with Flames flags in those rows, during the anthems.

I mean I'd rather the Flames charge more, the diehards still get to go to games and the scalpers get screwed.

Is your definition of a die hard just someone who can afford hundreds of dollars for a three hour game?
Cause I think we have different versions of what a diehard is. Your version seems to be torn out of Kevin Lowe's book. At least with somewhat reasonable ticketmaster prices non-rich, diehard fans still had a fighting chance of getting tickets direct at a decent price.
This is just "hey, let's combat scalping by being scalpers. Here you go die hards, we've taken your money out of those dirty scalpers hands....but yeah, we're still going to need that much money from you......and also, could you pay some more for a new arena as well.........at which point we'll make your tickets even more expensive?"

If we don't sell out you will say that Flames fans are not supporting their team

Your anger should be directed toward the Flames ownership group, not me!
I said the face value prices are ridiculous already.
All I’m saying is that I’d rather pay the Flames $200 for a $200 ticket than a scalper $200 for a $100 ticket. The higher FV prices definitely weeds out re sellers which is a small victory in my books.

Which is even funnier because this is the same logic the Leaf's used for their ticket price increases upcoming next year.
"We're increasing them to make them cost prohibitive for scalpers and easier for our real fans to get!"

The market can only bear so much. Scalped prices are high because of limited supply with high demand. By raising prices so high for the first round, the Flames may find that STH don't have the stomach to pay the jacked up prices, especially if the secondary market is cheaper than the box office.
I gave up my NFL season tickets because for most games, the secondary market prices were much cheaper than my cost. My playoff tickets for the divisional round were $150 US a piece. Because of the bad weather, tickets were going for $50 the day of the game online. The AFC Championship game would have been $300 per seat, and I would have declined the tickets because I knew that I would take a loss on those tickets.
Flames management must be assuming that the team will not go past the first round. History shows that is a save bet. They are charging big money in the first round, since that is probably their only chance at playoff revenue and they want to maximize it.

Pretty sure they charged the close to the same ratio since 04. It really hasn't changed.

When you click on the section map, Lots of lower bowl and PLs on the east side are still unsold.

Sure, if not wanting to get jipped on ticket prices contradicts that.
I never miss a game on TV, I go to 20sh games a year but I just refuse to be bent over on ticket prices.

Totally amazed at the high quantity and high quality of the seats that were available.
Two sets of 4 next to my seats were available.
Will be interesting to see what will be available for relocation.

I saw somewhere that they'll only release for game 6 when it is known that a game 6 will be required.

There isn't a real benefit to winning the lottery as you will likely get tickets for less than face value by Sunday.
