Big big price...Jokipakka is a whatever but a 2nd regardless of the depth of the draft is really steep. Kosta is another whatever as well.

Jokipakka has no value - move him for a veteran AHL defender... 2nd for young struggling player that was developmentally tampered with in OTT. Interesting scenario. I'd like to see Lazar in the AHL ASAP

They're not trading for what Lazar is today; they're trading for what they think he could be. Much like a 2nd rounder, but I think with higher up-side.
I don't mind this pickup. Kid's a pest - could fit in well.

If not for the expansion draft eligibility this would be a really solid move for the Flames. I liked Lazar in his draft year, but he's struggled a lot this year. Is it a case of a change of scenery being what's needed to get him on track to a serviceable NHL career. Or is he a fading flower?
It's all about expectations. Don't expect him to be a top 6 player...compare him to what you could have realistically got out of this years second round pick.

13-14 minutes on average, put up 6G + 9A in 67 games, and 6G + 14A in 76 games.
