Vrbata - EWWWWW
He's been terrible everywhere but PHX.

So is Brandon Bollig. Not that these players are comparable, rather whether a player has won a Stanley Cup before or not really should not be a contributing factor to a trade decision.

I'd prefer Sharp over Vrbata, I think I'd even prefer Iginla over Vrbata, but that may be sentimentally only.
However, I would like for them to add at least one of them.

That's the thing about Vrbata. There's good, even great numbers on his stats sheet but you will only see him perform like a top line RW in Arizona.
My big red flag is how he performed for Vancouver in the first round in 2015. Underwhelming at best.
That said he's probably still one of the top 3-4 options out there left for a top 9 winger. And given his regular season production at least would help the flames get in to the playoffs.

Vrbata would have the 5th most points on our team, Sharp has battled injuries all season and has still put up less points per game than Vrbata on a more offensive team.

Vrbata would actually have the most points on our team.
Sharp is not having a good season. If the acquisition price is at all comparable, Vrbata is the better bet.

I'd be in for Vrbata. Definitely over Iginla, and that one isn't even close. Probably more than Sharp too.

LeBrun: Flames interested in Vrbata
Instead of vrbata, can we just tell Chiasson to run up and down the wing throwing harmless pucks at the net from the right boards?

That's vrbata shot location from 14-15. I don't know how to embed pics from tapa.
Here is sharp this year

I actually go the other way on that one.
Vrbata is having the better season but I feel like overall Sharp is the better player when healthy.
Sharp has the better history and potential of being a gamebreaker down the stretch IMO.
If acquisition cost is the same and I think I go with Sharp even though he feels like the riskier bet at this point.

Vrbata would be a much better fit than Iggy on that Flames team.

Just yesterday 7 playoff point Boyle was being praised for his veteran savy in the playoffs on CP lol
The guy has 46 points this season, how is Iggy better other than nostalgia

This is simply not true. His best season was in Vancouver, and he played the majority of his prime in Phoenix so that's a bit unfair to state. Yes, his best years were there, but he's been roughly a .5ppg player everywhere else he's played. Hardly "terrible".
I'm all for him this year.

All that needs to happen is one injury and Wideman is back in the lineup.
I think Jokipakka on waivers either signifies the Flames might make one more move on the back end but personally I think it means Wideman is the nmovable and will remain the 7th Dman until get gets another shot back in the lineup

Vrbata's Career:
Regular Season: .603 PPG
Playoffs: 0.426
Iginla's Career:
Regular Season: .842 PPG
Playoffs: .840
It speaks to who is a big game performer, and who is not. Iginla still brings an edge, competitiveness, and physicality at 39 that Vrbata has never shown in his entire career.
My preference on a rental (ultimately is simply not to pick one up):
1. Iginla
2. Sharp
3. Vrbata
Acquiring Vrbata is effectively acquiring 2016 Hudler (although probably the un-injured version of that Hudler). I'd much sooner get Iginla, have him be the 3rd line RW and push Brouwer down to the 4th line RW for a very strong ability to roll 4 lines.

no kidding, two seasons ago 63 points in Vancouver
"he is only good in the last two cities he played"
it boggles the mind that people wouldn't want him (assuming a reasonable cost) considering he is outscoring every single player on our team this season

I am with you Comixzone. I also don't really want to go the rental route but if we do Iggy is the guy.
I hope they go after a younger guy with term. Nyquist maybe?
