A win would go a long way for them shaking the "streaky" monkey off their back.

#### these guys...making trades to prevent Calgary form getting a goal tender
Elliott with something to prove tonight...whole team should be motivated. Kings didn't respect Calgary two seasons ago and knocking them out was awesome
lets do it again

The Dome was absolute bedlam two years ago when the Flames beat the Kings and clinched their playoff spot. Hopefully a similar vibe returns tonight. GFG!

Shutdown the Carter line and you're shutting down the kings.
They definitely aren't the same team and the 10 million dollar man has 6 goals on the season.
Play the 3m vs Carter and watch the rest of the Flames light em up.

L.A. has to come into this game really desparate. Still lots of season left to go, but if they're leaving Calgary with a best case scenario of being 5 points back of the Flames once they catch up in games played that will be a tough hill to climb.

They looked really desperate in Minnesota last night, and with the travel I would imagine that it will be difficult for them to physically maintain that level of intensity.

Except Yzerman said no other team enquired about Bishop recently.

when he was defending what the media were calling a bad deal
also, deadline is tomorrow...not sure what his rush was
From LA's perspective they probably thought they were potentially keeping him away from Calgary
anyway we will never know for sure...Elliott gets to go head to head with Bishop tonight though

LA won't make the playoffs either. Let's hope this causes some friction between the LA goaltenders.

I was under the impression that Friedman had said that from speaking with Yzerman, that no other teams had made an offer. Friedman speculated that he thought the Flames had at least inquired. I could be mis-remembering though.

What I don't understand is why a team would want so much money tied up in 2 starting goalies. It just doesn't make any sense at all for them. Once Quick is healthy, they'll essentially be paying Bishop 7M to be backup. Hell of a price.
Tonight we can be as high as 7 points up, or as low as 3 points up on the kings. Let's hope it's the first option!

I am pretty confident Stevie Y could have got a better offer today or tomorrow
Flames
Oilers
Bruins
its just such an odd trade all around...
