So I might be wrong here, but wasn't the rumoured asking price the standard 1st round pick, A level prospect and player off your roster? If that was the case, if the Blues were ok to take so much less a full 2 days before the deadline, were going to be in for a snore fest on Wednesday

Orpik, Niskanen, Carlson, Alzner, Orlov and Shattenkirk. That's a deep blue line. Good mix of offensive and defensive dmen

And he's gotten way more opportunity to be a point producer in his career. The Capitals are a good team for him to go to so his glaring mistakes won't be as noticeable.
He's been a minus player two years in a row playing on a great defensive team and being sheltered as well.

MacLellan said he had a two-year window with this group and this is the 2nd year. So he's going for it, as he should.
Essentially saying that Oshie, Williams, Alzner, and Shattenkirk will not be featured on the 2017-18 Caps

So the Caps don't actually have a second-rounder in 2018. Wonder how they'll swing this. Will it be like in the CPHL where it's like "yeah I'll shoot you a pick in 2018 as soon as I get one", or...?

bold move by Washington... adding to a stacked line up, while also ensuring that the Pens don't get him...
should be interesting to see how it works out... personally, i've always liked Washington - since ovi got there, they've been a very good hockey market (at least from what i can tell)... it would be nice to see the Caps and Ovi get to a SCF...
before losing to the original "C of Red" of course!

We have no cap space and can't afford any of them. Which means, we're probably done buying. Unless someone agrees to take Wideman. Although, even if that happens, we're likely going get a 2nd or 3rd pick and retain some of his salary. Anyway, just an observation; this is off-topic here.
