I'd like to see that number cut in half between now and March 1st. Spend those picks and get the top 6 winger we need.

Love it, but wonder if one of our existing D are heading out to get a forward like Duchene. I can't see us going the 4-4 route, so that part doesn't make sense.

If the three defenseman the Flames protect in June are two of Giordano/Brodie/Hamilton and Stone, something will have gone horribly wrong.

The dream is to trade Wideman for anything right now. If not that, then I'd hope Treliving can get rid of Jokipakka for a decent pick.

I think Wideman is still a 5/6, could be ok I super sheltered minutes. Show some restraint and see how he does before firing him into the sun, however much I want to.

2.2 hits per game and 2.3 blocks per game, according to NHL.com ... more than any defenseman on the Flames roster in both categories. Over 20 minutes per game, including around 2 minutes on the PK and 1:40 on the PP.

really solid trade for that price. Could be a great fit on the 3rd pairing, maybe 2nd.

I feel they would have targeted him in free agency so at least now they can try before they buy. If he's not a good fit they will have dodged a bullet.
