The problem is that the league allows slashes, and every team does it including the Flames. We would be fighting every other teams players for the whole game since it happens so often in games. Until the league steps in and starts calling slashes penalties more often it will continue to happen.
I've got two concerns with the league and interference, one is the slashes to the hands and the other is when a player dumps and chases the puck, most defenders will slow the player down by cutting him off, which in my mind is clearly interference.
