The penalty killing paid off, Chara with a shorthanded goal and then Kreici with a power play goal and the Bruins lead 3-0.

What the heck happened to the Stars? I know Lehtonen sucked but wow, that was a collapse. What was Coach Ruff thinking? Lehtonen played the night before. Bummer that the Predators won it 5-3. It was a spirited affair in the 1st period with 6 fighting majors. The Canucks played well and Markstrom was decent in net. Chaput with 2 goals for the Canucks. Penalties just killed the Sabres and the Burrows fiasco was entertaining, Lehner would have crushed him in a fight. The 1st period had high energy with 4 goals scored, I was waiting to see if any Sabres would put their fingers near Burrows mouth.
The Sharks were down 1-0 after one period and then took a few bites out of the Devils the rest of the way to win 4-1. The Sharks really out played the Devils in the 1st period, great penalty killing by the Devils who had 4 minor penalties in the period. Burns with his 2 goals is just 2 points back of 1st place in the scoring race. The Wild are cruising in 1st place in the western conf. as they beat Detroit 6-3. The Wild had 3 PPGs and Parise scored 2 goals. Dubnyk with another win, Jared Coreau was in net for the Red Wings. Nyquist was careless with his stick and should have had a major or match penalty called on him.
The Bruins win 4-0 over the Habs. Rask gets the 25 save SHUTOUT. The coaching change has had positive results for the Bruins as they are back in a playoff spot right now. The game that not many cared about had the Islanders defeat the Avs 5-1. It was 2-1 heading into the 3rd period. Nick Leddy had 3 points and his teammate Anders Lee had 2 goals. Berube was in net for the Isles who are just 1 point back of the Leafs for 8th place in the east.
