How do the Holidays work in your home?

Christmas Eve we do Tourtiere, a tradition from my mom's side of the family. Go to church on Christmas Eve. Stockings first in the morning. Coffee and Baileys or Rum and Eggnog. Get the bacon going in the oven. Open presents.

The past couple of years, Mrs. Puppet has been interested in Christmas traditions around the world. She'll pick a country/region and do some studying, then we base Christmas eve dinner around the tradition. Last year she discovered an Italian thing called the Feast of the Seven Fishes. It keeps things interesting and educational.

Allowed to open one present on Christmas Eve. Presents from Santa put out and stockings filled after bedtime. A mandarin orange in the toe of the stocking.

My wife and her sisters and mother go to evening mass. Brother in law, father in law and I stay home and drink rum.

Stockings are fair game anytime in the AM. No presents opened until everyone up.

Tradition is some Baby Duck wine on the table at dinner (plus some other tastier choices).
