Anyone could have scored them. But they didn't. He found open space, he made the plays.

This team has 6 goals in those same 3 games. Chiasson got 2 of them.

This really isn't an arguable point. He's finding a way to produce. He doesn't sit.

All these anti Chiasson comments make me want to vomit. I keep thinking they will end after the next game, but I guess it's easy to have the new guy as the goat.

Either watch the damn games or educate yourself on hockey. Chiasson has been just fine all season long. It's not his fault GG tried him on the top line for longer than he should of.

I am much more upset that Wideman is in the lineup than Jankowski not being in it.

Just makes it easy to decide which posters don't actually know what they're talking about.

Like the Ferland detractors last year. Some people just don't have the ability to watch and evaluate hockey at a high level. Some people only puck watch. Some people conveniently overlook all physical battles in the NHL and believe the entire game is about fancy puck handling. Some people dont even know what makes a good NHL defencemen and can't evaluate them (often because they puck watch.)

Chiasson isn't amazing but he's been fine.

Chiasson scored our game winner vs Boston 3 games ago.

Like him or not, by definition he's a difference maker right now.

Really? Come on. Some of us have played since we were 4 and played high level hockey/coached. Get off your high horse.

I agree. I also think Jankowski should be in for F. Hamilton.

That may be. But your description of Chiasson does not match the reality I've watched. Maybe he's your whipping boy and your analysis of him is a touch over the top? He's a depth player making depth player money. And he's been decent at it.

So if you're educated on how hockey is played then you must not be watching the games very closely?

I'm not sure what else to tell you. But if you think Chiasson is what's hurting this team I'm pretty sure you know this sport half as well as you think you do.

I never said he is hurting this team. He just doesn't excel at one specific area of the game. He is just mediocre in all areas. For his price tag he does what is advertised. He is not a top 9 player. He is a 4th line grinder that doesn't use his body to his advantage enough.

But "anyone" didn't, and Chiasson did.
You can not like him, but if he's scoring, he's valuable.

I haven't liked Chiasson at all. I actually said "####, now he's going to get more time" when he scored haha.

Chiasson was never a 1st line RW, he was played as one, much like back in the days when Stajan was our #1 centre. The RW depth issues have nothing to do with Chiasson's game, which is adequate and about as expected. He's a 3rd liner.

Chiasson was the best player on the top line for a stretch of games where neither Gaudreau or Monahan seemed capable of hanging onto the puck or making a play. Then, as they improved a little, Chiasson regressed a little, and started looking more out of place there.

He is what he is - a depth guy capable of potting in some goals. I was hoping he would be that early in his career "Dallas guy" that scored a bunch, played fairly physical, and attacked the net a lot. Somewhere along the way, he just turned into a 'meh' player. He isn't hurting this team. I think he is helping, actually. I wouldn't scratch him - just don't give him that much ice time.

Chiasson is a decent depth guy who you eventually hope gets pushed out by players in the system, but it is really hard to complain about him as he is probably out-producing his cap hit, and in today's NHL, that is important.

With that said, I hope the Flames destroy the Leafs tonight. I want Hamilton to be a force all over the ice so that those idiot "Hamilton sucks anyways" sour-grape losers can STFU. Hat trick for Hamilton, 3 assists and beats on 3 of their punks (not that he ever fights..). Triple Gordie Howe Hat Trick please. Too much to ask?

Let's save the game of his career for the Cup Finals haha

Chiasson has been exactly as expected. 4th line player, 4th line salary, 4th line production. He's not a liability on the ice, which is more than can be said about some of the players that played 4th line even as recently as last year. He's our 3rd best (4th best if Versteeg counts) RW and I don't think it's really close.

also go flams

Lol... full circle.

I've played hockey my entire life as well, but there is a reason I'm not a pro..

Or a scout

Or a gm

Or a ref

Or an Oilers fan (I do know a little something about hockey)

Chiasson, like many have said, has been doing his job as of late.

He's going to go offside as he's one of the fastest guys on the team and wants the puck but others don't trust him so the pass doesn't come.

But other than poor hands and stupid offsides, he's been a decent bottom 6 guy.

I really hope that someone from the Flames will take care of Nazim Kadri. He is nothing but a cheap shot artist who can't take a check. Maybe Tzchacuk Ferland or Giordano will step up to the plate and tune him in once and for all. If you remember I think it was last year that poor baby took offence to a hit that Giordano laid on him and made the slashing motion when he went to the bench. Idiot got suspended for that move. He's not a hockey player, just an irritating little gnat.
