My gut feeling has always been that Jankos first recall would be his only one because he goes on to win a permanent spot. Probably won't be the case now because he forced a recall a lot earlier than he thought he would. Very happy for the kid and glad that the Flames' patience seems to pay off. His career path continues to mirror that of Alex Killorn ... hopefully his NHL career does too.
Not mad at the coaching staff for keeping him out to today, there's no need to rush him at all. Just mad at Millions once again, it's so annoying that he always jumps the gun and gets fans hopes up. Stupid twitter and the "be the first to report it" mentality I guess, but Roger would be wise to resist the urge every now and then.

I have a hunch that he reads the play very well, and often makes the right decision. As with any inexperienced player, he'll make a wrong read or two. Also, he'll have difficulty adjusting to the speed of the NHL game, and get caught by it a couple of times.
I'm saying this now so that people don't flip out when/if it happens. Expect it, and then be pleasantly surprised by anything more than that.

Of all the Flames prospects, Jankowski is the one I worry least about at the NHL-level, no matter where he slots in.

You should have a Snickers. You seem a little worked up this morning...

They sent Vey back to Stockton a couple days ago. Jankowski replaces him on the roster.

I believe, Vey was sent back when Versteeg was activated from the IR if I recall correctly.
However the Flames have 23 players on the roster.

So on Backlunds wing, 4th line between Ferland and Hathaway, or maybe him and Bennett can alternative center on a line.
Happy with any of them.

Hmm. The Flames website lists 27 right now. Vey has not been demoted down yet (WTG, Flames webmaster!) while Smid, Bouma and Gaudreau on IR leaves 23, including both Jankowski and Versteeg.

A lot of teams have done away with morning skates. This isn't a big deal.

Good for Jankowski. Been a long road, but excited to see him play when he does get the chance.

Can Roger Millions be any less of a clown? Honestly....why is he ALWAYS wrong and jumping the gun? And then always has to correct himself. Doesn't he ever learn?
Pretty sad that this guy is covering the Flames. Stick to Trump tweets Roger.

Vey was sent down on Tuesday, Versteeg activated Wednesday. IIRC The Flames said something about not wanting to carry 14 healthy forwards. Then Versteeg left practice early yesterday due to injury, thus the recall of a healthy body.

No, you're not. It's all on the coaches. First you have to come up with a childish name for the head coach...something like 'glue gun', then blame the lack of any player execution on him. Puck bouncing? Coaches fault. Players can't make a pass to save their lives? Coaches fault. Oh, and completely ignore all the media pundits that have said it takes a good chunk of games to learn a new system.
Failing that, call our 22 yr old center a bust because of a back injury that kept him out of all of training camp and he's had a bad 20 games to start the season.
Failing all that call out special teams...they really HAVE sucked.

You skipped the step of calling out the 23 year old defenseman who is leading the team in points for his ####ty play and demand he be traded for half the value the rest of the league places him at.

Can you believe that Roger made a mistake and then quickly corrected. What a tool hey..........am I right. Doesn't he know the impact false information about who will be in the Flames starting line up has on us fans........really he should use more caution before he does things like that. It can ruin peoples lives, not just days.

The real GM test will be if Tree sends Chaisson to the AHL where he belongs.

Thank you for properly preparing the fan base for his debut. We were lost in the woods, but now we're ready!
