If we scored on the PP, we win that game.

Yep. I'm fine with that and it should be the system. If you have the capacity to correct mistakes you shouldn't be penalized for it.
If you only get one and just lose it outright if you're wrong, and if there are guidelines on what is challengable, then I don't see a way to game the system that would require losing your timeout.
It's a weird rule that seems to give unnecessary risk to teams.

Obviously not. Since Hossa scored.

The refs are a bunch of useless ####s. How ####ing stupid do you have to be to get a job as an NHL referee. Mind blown!

Wideman's played himself back into the pressbox IMO. Would try out for next game:
Gio - Hamilton
Jokipakka - Brodie
Kulak - Engelland

Refs made the right call on the Hossa goal:
(i) In a rebound situation, or where a goalkeeper and offensive player(s) are simultaneously attempting to play a loose puck, whether inside or outside the crease, incidental contact with the goalkeeper will be permitted, and any goal that is scored as a result thereof will be allowed.

No, it's on the refs. Whatever else happened, the goalie interference negates the goal.

Was it incidental, or did Hossa purposely get behind Johnson and keep him from making the save?
Judgement call for sure.

Interesting, thanks for that. So is it still considered incidental if the player (Hossa) directly impedes the goalie's ability to reach the puck?

Good effort from the Flames against one of the top teams in the NHL.
All 4 lines looked pretty good tonight.
Vey or Chiasson should not be on the PP or on the ice with our net empty. Does not make sense to me at all. Annoying that Gulutzan believes that they should be.

Way too much whining about refereeing. I actually watched this game, just because I was bored. The winning goal was one of those thing - **** happens. Flames simply lack high-end skill, especially with #13 out. Just too much hands of stone. Vey on the PP is awful. Brodie on the PP is also no good. Backlund and Frolik are nice players, but they lack finish. Bennett looked good to me tonight and so did Tkachuk.

Tough loss to a very good team. Eastern conference. You can take that loss and learn from it without losing 4 points more or less. That being said, this PP. Cameron still needs to go. Sorry. Drunk here. Trying for moment of clarity. Failing?

Tough loss.
I hate the hawks. They just don't make mistakes.
Another game where winning or, at the very least, tying the special teams battle gets the flames a point or 2.

Next game, Jokipakka back in for Wideman, Shinkaruk in for Chiasson or Vey. Thanks ahead of time, I know you're are reading this Gulutzan.

Put Brodie with Engelland, don't bury him with Jokipakka. Make Jyrki work his way up the line up.
Giordano - Hamilton
Brodie - Engelland
Jokipakka - Kulak
