I didn't watch last night because I was at a party and I didn't watch tonight because I didn't have much faith with the curse. I don't think I can stomach watching another game until something serious is done.
I know the chances of Gulutzan being canned this early are slim as much as I want it to happen but I just want to see something done to show Treliving isn't just going to sit back and let this get worse.

Boom
Was totally bad coaching. Thats why they hired Dave Cameron and kept Sigalet.

Of the five games won so far, three of them have been against some pretty good teams in CHI, STL, and SJ. So this team can compete. Just so many errant passes, turnovers, missed nets. I'm tending to think it's either a symptom of not buying into a new system or the new system simply not being effective.

This is the only problem with the flames this year. Special teams.
5-on-5 has actually be quite good after the weak first 5 games. Its why I'm still wait-and-see with these coaches.

Aside from poor special teams they looked pretty good

Considering 20% of every game is played with special teams, you won't win if they're poor.

I think he is past the point of no return, benching players now will only piss them off collectively.

We outplayed them. Very strong possession, excellent pressure. Whats lacking is they can't make good enough offensive plays to generate higher quality scoring chances. Johnny is turning it over every other time he touches the puck.
Need to find a way to put the puck in the net, and once we do we are home free. Not sure why everything is always on the coach. Someone put up the stats previously of coaches who started off super slow and went on to do some pretty great things - Deboer and Johnston i think it was (they were in the cup final last year). I know time is dwindling but I liked the effort out there tonight. But once again, find a way to finish.

One of the Flames' strengths the past 2 seasons has been our smooth skating, puck moving defense but it feels like this new system disallows them to do anything

If Hartley's team had half decent goaltending last season they were in the playoffs. Doesn't look like firing him did anything.

At least with Hartley, the games were exciting. Even when the Flames lost I was often entertained.
This is unwatchable.

And 5 of the 8 losses have been against bottom 10 teams.

In all fairness, the weak PP and PK might be coaching...but it also might be that Gio, Brodie, Johnny and Monahan haven't been very good. And they're kinda important for special teams...
