There is zero comparison there, other than your gross bias.

Hrudey is godawful. I often tune in to the opposition broadcast on game centre in order to avoid him.
Wow is the Sharks broadcast team good IMO. Probably my favourite so far league wide

Make no mistake, Hrudey's a Flames homer for sure.
But there's just something a lot more likeable about him over Remenda. I think it's just his personality. He looks like genuine guy who'd laugh at your lame jokes, or who would engage you in a conversation if you chilled and had a beer with him. Kind of like Conroy.
Remenda looks like a Damian Cox or Healy type, who would just try to tell you how awesome his hockey knowledge is.

Ha. This reminds me of Gord Miller (or similar) on TSN radio in Montreal the other day, talking about Shea Weber and what a spreadsheet may not be able to show.
Miller said he and Ray Ferraro gave our friend Tyler Dellow a ride from the rink in Edmonton one day a couple years ago, resulting in analytics discussion/disagreement that saw Dellow repeatedly telling the 19 year NHL vet that he just didn't understand the game.
Remenda, and all things Edmonton, are no good.

Another brutal crowd in Ottawa last night - 13260.
Averaging 14,850, which includes one Habs and one Leafs home games... yikes.
Arena capacity is 18,600, 20,000 with standing room only - so far this year:
Wed Oct 12 vs Toronto 17,618
Sat Oct 15 vs Montreal 18,195
Tue Oct 18 vs Arizona 11,061
Sat Oct 22 vs Tampa 15,918
Tue Nov 1 vs Carolina 13,049
Thu Nov 3 vs Vancouver 13,260
I grew up in Ottawa, and went to my share of Sens games, even at the crappy old Civic Centre. Ottawa fans have always been fickle, but for crying out loud, the team is winning, and people don't show up.
The arena location isn't great, but that hasn't stopped them from averaging 18,000+ for the past several years. Will the new arena allegedly on the way help with this? From my experience, no. Ottawa has lost two football teams and a triple-A baseball team, all in the time I lived in Ottawa.

Couldn't disagree more. I think he's measured, level headed and insightful. I'd also say his best qualities are that he sounds very humble and doesn't present an ego at all. He's obviously pandering to Flames fans on regional broadcasts, but nowhere near to the degree of people like Remenda or the handful of guys who's tone sounds like their dog died when the opposition scores.
Different strokes for different folks I guess but 'change the channel' bad? That's a head scratcher.

Maybe they just forget that they have a hockey team sometimes. Kind of like the rest of us.

At one point they showed an overhead shot of the crowd last night, and it looked half full. Would not be surprised if the actual attendance was under 10,000.

Interesting discussion on Montreal sports radio the other day.
The Sens PR to the francophone community is terrible, according to Francois Gagnon of RDS.
He suggests you won't find a single fan in the stands from across the river (Hull/Gatineau).
Maybe those are Habs fans anyway, probably are, but he claims the Sens have really dropped the ball with that potential market.
You need to do things differently here - cater to the francophone population. Apparently the Sens don't.

Talking to some people in Ottawa, they say the location isn't even the problem. It's just the Senators are trying to get the government to pay for a new arena near downtown.
Apparently, most Senators fans who are willing to pay for tickets actually live out in the Kanata and Barrhaven areas, so it's not really a demographics issue. If they built a downtown arena, it's less likely these people would go to a game.
However, maybe being in the downtown raises the profile to the business community more and more boxes are sold, but then again, you are talking about a city where most employers are government and corporate boxes might not look that good optically.
There isn't a huge population of residents in the downtown although some new condo projects are being built in the area of the proposed arena.
Personally, I think the team has a terrible name and logo. Who wants to cheer for a senator? Fat and corrupt politicians, yeah, that's what appeals to the masses. I know they try and turn the Senator into some warrior but I doubt that's what people associate them with. It's just not a cool sports team name and identity.
