Sadly, I've given up on the ignore list - at least until some sort of functionality is introduced to have ignored posts be censored out when other people quote their posts.

Hamilton is 93rd in the league in TOI/game.... That puts him as the top of the #4 Dmen.
He may be a fast skater but he is slow to react and not quick. He may be big but he is not physical or at all sound defensively.
Before I thought that he just might not have been a favorite of Hartley... However we have a New coach, less depth on defense (Russell gone) and same limited amount of ice.
Right now Hamilton would have about the equivalent value of Darnell Nurse who is playing #5 minutes with the Oilers.... Right now if Nurse was on the Flames he would be getting more ice time than Hamilton.
He finishes out the year like he started and he will have negative trade value.

Darnell Nurse? And his career high 10 points? Man....

im getting close to this point too. I can handle most "controversial" posters, moon or ricardodw or gaudreauvertime. but some of these new guys are extra special.

exactly people here are in denial. How long can u keep using the age excuse when u see no improvment and hes been in the league for what 5 years? I cant wait for the day hes traded than we will see everyones tune change and trash on him. People here love to blindly defend all our players but when we have been so garbage so far and the coach is using him as a #5 and rumors of flames shopping him u know somethings wrong.

It's too soon to tell. Was always high initially with better value towards the end of the deal if he progresses to where people believe he will be.

Cant handle criticism of our players? while being the worst dman in the league is a huge exaggeration he has been by far our worst player.

He's on an average contract, just like Monahan is. He outproduces all his comparables, and gets paid accordingly. The only d-men around his age (still in RFA years) that get paid less for producing more are OEL, Barrie, Faulk and Brodie.
He was signed knowing that he wasn't yet at his peak. He has some 50+ point seasons in him I guarantee it.

He was pretty solid in the second half last year. Hard to say he's been a disappointment overall. I think people's expectations weren't aligned with what a 22 year old defenseman can be reasonably expected to do.

i would trade dougie for trouba or something (doubt wpg would do that). We need a defensive dman to improve our team and according to what wpg fans say hes not too good offensivly but good defensivly

he might have been getting points in the second half but he was still bad defensivly. He only started producing when we were out of it.

Hamilton came off a 10 goal, 42 assist season as a 21 year old defenseman. He's big, he's right-handed and the deal bought two UFA years. Is it a steal of contract? Nope. But it's a pretty good one for sure. It was reported at the time that the Bruins offered 6 x 5.5m, then the Flames signed him to 6 x 5.75m. Hate the deal all you want, it's at the very least a market-value contract.

Criticism? What the hell are you talking about. These are severe overreactions and false accusations by dumb, stupid, idiotic, pathetic, sad excuses of Flames fans.
I get that posters like Ricardodw drum up more site traffic with their silly, controversial opinions on anything Flames related, but it's to the point where I find it impossible to have a reasonable Flames discussion on this forum.
The percentage of idiotic posters on this forum has officially climbed past an acceptable level and I'm done.

Dennis Wideman didn't put up a 40pt season till he was 26, and didn't accomplish that feat again until he was 29.
Actual facts say hello
