I think he's fine. According to some ads I see on the internet, 'You won't believe how much this hockey player is worth'.

I thought his life goal was to collect a full set of his favorite hockey car.. er players. Seriously the guy plays some Oilers version of Pokémon go.

Looks like he's now collected a full set of action figures, but he's still needs Coffey, Kuri and Anderson. Once he has those, he'll seal them all in plastic and forbid his son from playing with him.

I still hope they crash and burn, but pretty cool time for them. Most optimism going into a season in probably 25 years.
This is long-term cicada level revival, a Manchurian candidate activation of epic proportions.

I think he just wants to work in hockey but realizes that any other team wouldn't have him. He was a great player, but he's in way over his head as a coach or a manager. Edmonton is probably his only option because other teams hire people based off qualifications, not for PR or to collect toys.

i dunno why you guys are being so skeptical about this. Between Gretzky and Lowe there's like 10 stanley cups.

They know a little bit about winning if that’s ever a concern.

There’s no other two guys, I believe, in hockey today that’s still working in the game that has won more Stanley Cups than the two of them.

The off-season is always the best time to be an Oilers fan.

As a Flames fan to the Oiler fans,

I think a Con-Gretz is finally in order...

It pains me to say this, but that is cool for Oiler fans. I really hated Gretzky growing up but they guy is all class. New rink, McDavid etc. They have some things to be excited about.

Now let's burst their bubble tonight.

Peter Chiarelli ‏@FakeOilersGM 58m58 minutes ago Wayne Gretzky is joining the Oilers management team. His role is to figure out what the hell Mark Messier’s role is.

What has Wayner done of note since his playing days were over.

Clearly, he is in a class by himself when it comes to on the ice, but off it, meh.
