Just looked at the roster to see if there were any better suggestions. Yikes. May as well give the new mascot a letter.

That didnt stop them last time.

Nuge should have been the Captain or else go 3 alternates for one more year if you don't want to name a 3rd liner. I always thought he was terrible but after the World Cup he appears to be a very solid number 2 center.

I feel bad for McD... of course he would love to be captain! Nothing like having the weight of a team on your shoulders lol...When will the Oilers brass ever learn (never of course)

Poor kid, it's almost comical how badly things went for Conor. Went from one of the most highly touted prospects ever to captain of one of the worst sports franchises in the last decade. It's got to be a nightmare scenario playing barely half a season then having to lead a band of misfit failures.

Who was the last youngest? Landeskog? He struggled a bit with the captaincy didn't he?
Guess we'll see if this increases the chances of McDavid having the dreaded sophomore jinx.

it looked like the automated sliding door was going to close on Lucic's arse like in austin powers there...
how do the oilers as an organization with a PR and Marketing staff, not realize how ridiculous all this looks?

What the hell did McDavid do in his life to be stuck with this team by the hockey gods? Poor kid! Cant even imagine how much pressure he must feel - probably more than Crosby and Ovechkin combined. I really wish he didnt play for the oil so I could cheer for him like I did when he was in the O.

Jesus, any other team and I'd ask what the hell are you doing? Let the kid play and grow up before heaping the pressure on him.
But Edmonton, so...big greasy tire fire. Carry on.
