It's pointless. There are precisely zero people the org can bring in now to be a 1 line replacement, there are zero people the org can bring in now to realistically try and strongarm Gaudreau and his agents into signing quicker, if the absence of Gaudreau (and whatever replacement you could find on September 6) would lead to a surefire 2-8 start then the org has bigger problems.
And frankly... if there is someone out there now, that the Flames could pick up, that could be a 1 line replacement for Gaudreau until his contract situation is worked out then that guy should already be on the team. Seriously... it's not like we have that much depth.

Exactly! The question should be more about what about if they young guys are sent back to junior and the AHL. Who fills in the top line spots then? I can see them being on the lookout for adding a forward but not to replace Johnny.
