Not anymore. But even when I did, she was fine with it. That was rare. Although I admit when I have an overnight guest now, I turn the heat up. It's uncomfortable but worth it.

Don't be. It actually sucks. Winter is such an uncomfortable time as everyone has their heat cranked up and I want to just strip down. That's kosher in summer, not so much in winter.

Some pampered people in this thread! Funny that it's right beside the "ways to save money thread".
We keep the house 16 - 18 degrees, just like my parents used to.
If you're cold put on a sweater, it's free. In my house, anyway.

You're better off. You can always put more clothes on, but when you're running in 30 degrees there's only so much you can do.

I sleep at night with the bedroom windows partialy open. I like a cold room when I go to bed at night.

Been a ton of uncomfortably humid days here this summer. Believe I read Kamloops had more days over 30 degrees than Southern Ontario this summer, but don't think they have to deal with the unbearable humidity we've had. It had started to cool down here last week, but back to crazy heat for the next few days.

Heat has been on for 4 days. Thermostat is set to 17, I hate living close to Siberia.

Our heat has been set at 20 during the day and 17 at night. Never turned it off during the summer, and the heat never came on.
We have turned on the heat for a really brief time a couple of evenings in the last week.

Huh, I didn't know turning off furnaces was a thing. I've always just left it on, and let the thermostat do its thing automatically, even throughout summer months. I set the temperatures I want in the house, and I basically leave it as is throughout the year.

This morning I thought about it. But then I reminded myself the evil of sleeping in my room when it was 30+ some days in my room this summer and I enjoyed suddenly enjoyed the cooler temperature.

We had it on for a bit last night (but oddly not over night), and 1 or 2 for a tiny bit before.
I'm perfectly happy without the heat on yet, but my wife on the other hand....I think she starts asking for it to be turned on in early August.
And in the wintertime, 16 celsius for when we are not home/over night. Otherwise, in the evenings, we bump it to 18-19. Maybe to 20 if my wife is very cold.

Gahhh! 19 is the perfect indoor temperature. 18 is OK. You folks with your furnaces cranked up to 22 or 23 are incomprehensible to me. How do you not pant like husky-dogs and raid the freezer for popsicles in that kind of heat?
Turning the furnace on in the fall is a sad, solemn ritual that Mr. Suave and I like to put off until October.

Well, global warming hasn't worked out the way I wanted it to so yes, I have had to turn the heat up a little early this year.
