I was a Sportsnet transplant, those forums went to crap in a hurry once some nitwit from AEG or something started moderating. He had such thin skin... I want to say it was AltaGuy that told me about CP but I don't really remember.

I was at the 2007 training camp when some guy and his son nearby asked me if I had heard of calgarypuck... I was a member shortly after.
I think that might have been Bingo and Bingo Jr.

I would say 40% chance FDW told me about it, 40% chance Bertuzzied told me about it, and 20% chance I stumbled in on my own.
I do know I lurked for a year or more before joining.

I also found out about the site after the Ferrence trade. Was googling for info late at night and found the thread discussing it. Lurked for awhile and found out that another student at school I was at (Hes) was also on the site too.

If we're being honest, I signed up to troll. In 2008 I had an old account that I would use to troll poorly (for clarification, I was a stupid 14 year old who thought he was hilarious). I believe I got banned in 09 or so. Took a few years off and to be honest I think I created this account to troll again, but decided to try not be so obvious. Next thing I knew I was reading the forum everyday. Didn't really start posting somewhat frequently until 2013 or so. Now I'm hooked.

There are some great sources on here and often I can find Flames news faster here than on twitter or other websites. There are also some decent discussions.

Was really depressed that I couldn't find a good place online to laugh about how terrible the Oilers are. Found an E=NG thread and I was hooked.
Either that or came for Red Mile girls and stayed for the Hot Women thread.

You can thank the user HOZ on that board whose sole purpose on the site seemed to be to spew his hatred. I recall that he rarely posted about hockey and much of it was about liberals and Muslims. He crossed the line once, someone sent the link to Ken King, who had the board shut down temporarily.
That was the reason I ended up lurking here at first. Still don't post much, but that has to do with limited hockey knowledge.
