I am 5-2 with the Maple Leafs.

Sundin leading the Leafs with 4G 5A 9Pts

I updated the Leaf roster and Lindros got injured in the 3rd game with a pulled groin#

I played online two times with my PS2 and was 1-1.
You know how much everyone around here hates the Leafs, yet you still talk about your virtual games with them like we care??

Stick to your "I like the Flames" part of your schizophrenia...
Hey, don't be so hard on the guy...

(at least he got Lindros hurt!)
BTW, I&S, I hope you aren't too bothered by everybody here. You know the rest of Canada has an obsession with hating the Leafs...but mostly it is the media portrayal. Man, you don't know how much hate spewed out of everywhere after that article from the deluded Toronto writer came out claiming that they weren't the "Toronto Maple Leafs" but the nationally beloved "Canada Maple Leafs". I'm curious, why do you like them so much? Are you originally from the center of the universe? (just kidding).

Thread HIJACK!!

I actually am a Canadian who doesn't mind the Leafs (though they have a high chance of being terrible this year) - however, living in Ontarion, this place is my oasis from Leaf lovers ...

I was wasted last night, give me a break ...

I've always bought EA's hockey series for Playstation (or SNES before that), however, now that I have a better computer I am wondering if I should get it for PC. I've never played it on PC before.

For all you peeps out there who have played on both console and PC, which is better?

Ya nothing like having four buddies and you huddled around the computer.

I haven't played a PC version for many years. Does it still have the odd crashing or slow down issues that they used to have?
The thing I like about the PC version is the ability to install graphic mods and also the roster editors which allow you to retire a player like Stevens or MacInnis before starting a Dynasty or change them into a different player. So if you want Kipper to have his real mask or if you want the Saddledome to have it's actual board ads you can. I've also changed one of the European leagues into the Manitoba Junior Hockey League which is pretty cool.

As far as the crashes and slow downs go I've never had that problem though I always have a high end computer due to the work I do.

I think the last one I bought was in 1994. I think the games crashed regularly on any computer back then.
Ah, I didnt get a computer until NHL 98 came out so that would explain it.

Silly question...but essential for my purchase of the game...

Does EA's NHL 06 have each teams' goal horns (I know Sega's 2K5 did)? I haven't played the EA games for a couple years but they used to have just some generic goal horn in previous versions - I hate that.

So how up to date is the Calgary Flames roster, anyone on the team who shouldn't be?
If I'm not mistaken,

-we still have Turek
-we still have Lydman
-we don't have Hamrlik
-we still have Eriksson
-Sauve is still on Colorado

And of course, there is no Phaneuf. Any idea what kind of stats you would give him if you did create a player?

If you update to the online rosters, you will get hamrlik and Sauve, but no Phaneuf.

I havn't really payed attention to the horns, but I know you can create custom teams and choosing a goal horn is part of the customization.
I am assuming that since you can give custom horns to make believe teams, the real teams must have different horns too.

No Phaneuf? That's dumb.

Has anyone figured out a trade to get Hamrlik and Amonte and Mccarty?
Amonte and Mccarty are already on the team.

EA's suppose to release a roster update that will have all the new rookies a day after the season starts and they've all played one game. There' s suppose to be something in their contract with the NHLPA that says they cant add any new players until they've played one game.

What inferno said.

Just trade for Hamrlik.. I got him or like Eriksson and Buzek or something.. Just toss a couple of guys who shouldn't be on the roster for the people we have now. I did the same thing to get Macdonald. I created Phaenuef before I started my season and signed him as a free agent when I began the season.

By the time EA releases a roster pack i'll probabley be done my first season anyway :P

I only play console without internet xbox live or whatever the PS2 equivalent is.
Do you know someone who does have it? My sister's boyfriend has a PS2 without online play and he gets a buddy of his to update the rosters on his memory card for him.

I'm just going through it now.

The charge is $2.00. You can pay by credit card or you can have ESPN sponsor it, which means they are allowed to contact you (over email I guess) with promotions and shingaurd.

Rosters updated. That was quick, painless and very cool.

Anyone wanna buy a copy of the PS2 version of this EA 06?

I am not too impressed with it. Perhaps I have just gotten used to the 2K series...

$35 takes it. Receipt from FS included....
