Martin Giuffre competing in his badminton match now. Don't think it's on tv, streaming it online

I know people really like tight races and competition, but whether it's Tiger (prime), Federer (prime), Phelps (all the time), Bolt or now Ledecky there is just something so special about seeing an athlete just completely dominate their opponents over and over and over.

It's tied at a game apiece. He was down 17-13 and came back and won the second game. Saved a match point too!

Yeah parity is great too. But dynasties are compelling in individual or team sports. They are exciting to watch, and it's a lot of fun cheering for an underdog to take them down.

1986 was incredible for that very reason.

Ya I'm not too sure as to why this isn't on tv... His first match wasn't televised either.

Watch it on CBC online. Guiffre is crushing him in the 3rd set.

Ya, that's where I'm watching.

Giuffre wins! I share some mutual friends with Martin, really happy for him

Giuffre wins the match and is 1-1 in group play. Not sure if he had to win the group to advance, but if that is the case he has no chance to continue because the Hong King dude won't lose to Martins from Portugal. Though nice to see him at least win one match at the Olympics.

I don't think the Trampoline event will be televised either... at least we get to see replays of events 6x on CBC

Have to win the group to advance. They put badminton players in groups to allow 2 matches each but really if you lose one you're out.
