ANyways I'm pretty sure Garnet Hathaway is more useful as a checker than Chiasson so meh.

Far more likely to be Bollig or Jooris instead of Colborne. We shall see...

Solid move by the Flames. Low risk, potential high reward.

Great prospect trade. Chaisson is a big kid with decent skating. Sieloff was down the depth chart quite a bit. Honestly thought he would be in the NHL by now.

Doubt it, Jooris maybe. Like I said, I wonder if they keep Jooris and keep two 'meh' 4th line RWers. I just don't see why they would

Colborne is much better than Chiasson, especially if you hold the 2nd half of his season in higher regard.

Ottawa seems to have a hate on him because he was the big piece for the Spezza trade and didn't pan out. Seiloff was organizational depth at this point, so why not see if Chaisson can get on track.

good gamble....could actually be lost in expansion next year, but the cost is so low it doesn't matter much...
I think this may be the first trade with Ottawa since 1995? Frank Musil for a 4th rounder...one of Risebrough's last moves before he was finally fired.
Ottawa is certainly one of our less frequent trading partners...

Yeah, something has to give. Too many bottom 6 guys.

Stajan
Bouma
Colborne
Ferland
Bollig
Jooris
And now Chiasson

Feels like I'm missing someone.

Good buy low target. RW with size and some upside to bounce back. Sieloff was buried in our organization. Low risk move with some upside.

I honestly don't like this at all for Calgary, although we didn't give up much. Not a huge fan of Chiasson.

probably the end of Jooris. I wish it was the end of Bollig, but I doubt it.

Good acquisition by the Flames. Still young and had a good campaign a couple of years ago.

top 9 producer, but with solid shot suppression stats ...

Quote:
Instead, what the HERO chart reveals is that Chiasson is excellent at suppressing opposition shot attempts. While not very good at boosting his linemate’s offensive production, he is exceptionally capable at making sure that his line keeps the puck away from their net. For a team that gives up far to many shots on a nightly basis, Chiasson’s skill set is particularly important for Ottawa.

There's really not much to this trade. Sieloff won't be an NHLer, and Gulutzan might have been in favour of adding Chiasson.

If he works in the bottom 6, good. If not, we move on pretty quickly.

Great trade considering Sieloff is destined for my great aunt's mantle.
