5 years at $5 million and I'd love him alongside Gaudreau.

What the heck?? So Flames is in the process of re-signing two of their top forwards Monahan and Gaudreau for maybe over $5 or $6M a season. Rumour has it that they are trying to acquire goaltender Ben Bishop, who will probably command over $5M a season also and now Milan Lucic who is looking for also over $5M a season. They have some expensive signed players already in Doug Hamilton so how the heck will the Flames will afford to put 5 players plus Giordano, Brodie, Backlund, Frolik and others all in the salary cap. Yep, like someone says it seems like the Flames are rumoured to want everyone. Weird.

Sounds a lot like maybe Treliving is trying to get the Canucks or Oilers to severe over pay for Lucic.
A bit of physiological warfare.

Having said that, I think the Flames should focus efforts on finding a similar type player in a lower wage bracket.

Maybe, given a choice of 3 west Canada teams, Lucic would rather sign in Calgary, as they are a better team.

That's about all we have to spend, but I bet he gets a much bigger offer from Vancouver and Edmonton. Lucic in Calgary is a pipe dream, especially if Treliving makes a move for a big ticket goaltender.

Lucic will get 7M, I bet....he's one of the biggest of not many fish in the sea. I really like him, but no thanks at that price

LA would have already re-signed Lucic if all it took was $5 million /5 years. He is going to be at least another $1 million a year more and maybe even another year in term.

Uh uh. What if he decides 3 years? He won't go 5 or 6. His cap hit is too much.

8x3 would be the ideal scenario

Lucic is a menace against the opposition and has no problem screening the Goalie with effectiveness, has good hands for a big man.
Boston scored plenty of PP goals because the shot came with him planted out front. LA didn't use him the same way on the PP. Lucic is just what the Flames need for protection with Johnny and the PP.

haha, I would love to have Bishop or Elliot added and then Lucic up front. Talk about x-mas morning. He is exactly what this team needs IMO. But as many mentioned his price tag is a bit much I think for this club. If anyone can make it happen it is BT. In BT I believe.

He would be a fan favorite for sure. Not sure if he fits our budget. Are there any other players like him? Up and coming type.
