Les Canadiens de Montreal sont fiere de choisir, The Montreal Canadians are proud to select, from the Windsor Spitfires,...
D Mikhail Sergachev.
Montreal feels that Sergachev has #1 defenceman upside that Juolevi and Bean don't have. He'll be able to learn from Markov as he develops into a force in the NHL.

With the 10th Overall pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft the Colorado Avalanche are proud to select, from the London Knights, Olli Juolevi.
Juolevi was the top ranked d-man in this draft and the Avs feel very fortunate to add Juolevi on the backend.
We have made some questionable decisions with our team over the past couple seasons but feel that this decision was a no brainer. We looked at Logan Brown as well but felt that due to our history of trading good centers for limited return that we may be better off taking the best d-man available.

Sorry guys!
With the 11th pick, The New Jersey Devils are proud to select, from the Windsor Spitfires, Logan Brown!
Jersey needs to stock up on forwards and while Keller was the target, they are thrilled to have Brown fall on their lap.

Drive-by comment - if there is one thing I am almost certain about, it's that the Sabres will NOT take Keller.

I wanted Chychrun. I don't think the Sabres will take Juolevi and at that point I felt the best fit would be a skilled American forward.

They won't sign Vesey, did the agent not just confirm that?

I don't know if the Sabres take Keller but I don't see the relevance of the trade they just made particularly since the player is unsigned

Carolina Hurricanes are pleased to select from Mississuaga of the Ontario Hockey League, center Michael McLeod.
Canes were hoping for Jost to slip to them and settle for Nylander's center. McLeod continues to build depth of forward prospects for the Canes and can serve as the defensively responsible center for the smaller wingers in a year or two.

Boston Bruins are proud to select from the Calgary Hitmen Jake Bean.
Projected to be the best offensive d-man in this draft, the Bruins believe Bean will quarterback their powerplay for the next decade plus.

The Minnesota Wild are pleased to select from Boston University, Defenseman Charlie McAvoy
I think the Wild could use a solid D prospect but there was another fw I was considering take here as well. Looking at their depth, D seemed to be the best route.

GOAT!
|
With the sixteenth overall pick in the 2016 NHL Draft, the Detroit Red Wings would like to select, from the BCHL, Defenceman Dante Fabbro!
As an organization, we feel we are known for our high-IQ, puck possession style of play. We believe Dante is not only the smartest D in the draft, but is also extremely close to being NHL ready. We understand he's committed to BU in the Fall, but we look forward to getting him into camp and seeing him in action.
