If Miss Teeks wins the door prize, it might be the most exciting comment from this event

The requirements for all teams remains the same. Good goaltending, defence, forwards who backcheck, size, toughness, pitching, skill, speed and coaching. That a team can win while being weaker at one or the other doesn't mean they aren't desirable assets.

So if we sign a couple solid relievers will we have better late game pitching than the Jays?

I think we need a better closer.

They were in red Flames bags so you couldn't see.

That was one of the least revealing sessions I have been to yet, and definitely the worst for fan questions. Good grief. I can do a bit of a summary but probably won't be too much.

"I have a comment then a question"
*3-minute rambling story or stupid complaint followed by inane question*.
Can't they ask a skill testing question before letting people on the mic? Something?

Was there any mention of the 6th OA pick being traded for Eberle - or Wideman for Yak?

It was really quite painful tonight.

They did mention there's no more retiring jerseys. Even number 12. They said that if someone's going to use 12 again, they'd make sure the number would be honoured and done justice. Didn't want to have a situation where all the good numbers are out of circulation, citing Boston as an example. Said the trend in the league is moving away from retiring numbers now.

Ugh. I hate the Forever a Flame thing and "running out of good numbers" seems like a poor excuse for a franchise that has a very small number of players that should have that honor.
I agree the bar should be high for jersey retirement - but the forever a Flame thing is half-assed and lame.

Burke also mentioned that Janko has all the tools and is "flawless" skill wise, but is "slow".

The questions were terrible tonite. Worst I've ever heard at one of these. Just terrible. It's like someone forgot to lock the door to the funny farm on their way out at 5:00.

Iginla and Kiprusoff are 2 players that I would like to see have their numbers retired. Both of them have been what I would call franchise players for the Flames.

Regarding the draft Burke said there is a top tier of 3 players, then the next ledge is 7 to 8 strong as he put it. Burke mentioned Juelovi, Chychun and Nylander (probably just examples). He also mentioned that you could drop down a few spots, get and asset and still get a player you covet.

Nothing earth shattering but that it was interesting to hear him name names.
