You are abosolutely not wrong about it at all. I just personally feel, that there were other players who maybe deserved it more. Kris Letang and Matt Murray come to mind right away.

IMO Letang was a distant 4th. It was a choice between Crosby, Kessel and Murray IMO. I simply didn't see a bad shift out of Crosby. He was constantly dangerous, plus he played a great 200 foot game. And I also felt that Kessel was the extreme beneficiary of playing away from the opposition checking that the Malkin and Crosby lines got. Murray I felt was good but also the beneficiary of great shut-down play by the Pens.

I think Murray played fine, but was no where near as good in the final round as his counter part, Martin Jones. Letang also played really well, but he did not exhibit anything close to the same consistent dominance that Crosby wielded with every shift. It is rare to see a player control the play, shift after shift, game after game, series after series. Crosby was incredible, and no one else was.

It wasn't Murray alone who stonewalled his way to the cup. The combination of the stifling shot blocking defense along with solid goaltending was half the formula on top of timely goals. It got to the point that the Sharks in that series alone could not make easy wide open shots because of the amount of mental pressure the defense created with the speed of closing down with numbers in the defensive zone.
Crosby simply did everything except catch the puck.

Not quite true. The captain knows who he is giving it to. The Penguins wanted to give the Cup to the injured early on. They were even asking guys on the ice about if they were surprised when they got it. Most said yes. They were having their time and then handing it to whoever was around. How would the order come about? Do you really think in all the celebration and mayhem that all the guys would remember the exact order?

Phil Kessel has officially chosen to host his day with the Stanley Cup in Toronto next month. The city remains his second home.
Down Goes Brown @DownGoesBrown
If Kessel gets a photo taken in Toronto with the Cup next to a hotdog cart it surpasses Henderson's goal as the greatest hockey moment ever.

Today was Kessel's day with the Cup, and he was good on his word, bringing it to Toronto including to the Sick Kids Hospital.

Watch Kessel get a standing ovation the next time he plays in Toronto when the jumbotron crew puts on a video summary of the day.

Kessel is awesome. Seems like a great guy and her certainly made those kids day with a lifelong memory. That second picture warms my stone cold heart. So glad he got the hell out of Toronto and was able to be a major force in the Pens cup win.

The only thing I learned from his visit to Toronto other than reaffirming that he is a great guy is that from all the pictures,
I have the body of an NHL All-Star

What's with his hand? Did he break it?
I've always liked Kessel.
