X3 on where to source the seeds. Have a plug n' play shoebox-sized hydroponic planter that I've never used. This sounds way more interesting than basil.

How much sunlight do you need to grow those chillies?

I'd say "full sun". A south or south-west facing garden would work best. If your starting from seed you'd want to start growing indoors early but you can probably pick up a nice healthy plant from one of the local greenhouses. The spiciness is hit or miss though, at least mine were.

Well, I took apart a Thai green chili and planted 3 clumps of seeds in a pot. Will keep you updated. Will try to find some other varieties and plant them too - something is bound to sprout I hope.

In the wooing phase of our relationship, we went to her favorite place in Winnipeg. She ordered the hot wings and I dug in. Hottest wings I've ever had. So much so that my head was sweating. My hair was drenched, my face was a shade of red I'd never before witnessed and I resorted to dumping sugar packets into my mouth for any sort of relief. Sure did win her over that night!

I'm guessing this was their ghost pepper sauce. If so it's my favorite when I want a spicy wing. Nice balance of blazing hot but with actual flavor.

Those were the show stoppers on all you can eat wing nights! Eat 5 of those at the end, couldn't have another bite.

I decided I had to plant some after this thread. Went to Red Deer's local seed shop and picked up these, says 95 days so I may be pushing it but with our greenhouse I'm hoping they'll grow a little quicker! Says super hot on the package so can't wait.

Anyone know a site that lists all the places that have wing night in Calgary by day of the week?

Step 1. Place Tobasco sauce in garbage.
Step 2. Douse wings in Franks.

Franks is barely a real hot sauce.
Tabasco is about as iconic as it gets where hot sauces are concerned. There's a good reason it's been around for 150 years

Curious about official market share stats of the sauces. Ever since #### sauce became widely available, hardly anyone I know keeps tabasco in the house anymore. #### sauce is perfect all the time. A zigzag across your hash browns and eggs, a blast into caesar salad, etc.
Edit: Oops. Should have called it Rooster sauce instead.

There are so many great hot sauces out there now. Many craft and boutique manufacturer's making some great stuff for all tastes.
Tabasco sauce probably sees more duty in Caesar's here in Canada but is still very popular south of the border. I always have a bottle in my house
Sriracha has certainly gained huge market share and popularity.

Frank's may not be the spiciest, but my god it's delicious

Probably because it's the saltiest hot sauce known to man. Here's a little comparison (all serving sizes are 1 teaspoon):
Heinz Ketchup - 53 mg
Lea and Perrins Worcestershire Sauce - 55 mg
Frank's RedHot Original - 190 mg
Kikkoman Less Sodium Soy Sauce - 192 mg
I'm not one to get too concerned about salt intake, but this seems kind of excessive, especially considering the quantities of Frank's people tend to use.
