It's definitely for U18s. For example, someone at Hfboards points out that an 18-year-old Crosby had 16 points in the tournament after his first NHL season.

Laine could have played at the U18. He has a special permission to use the visor in this tournament.

I wonder if that's a record?

I don't know if anyone tracks that. They have their definitions for U18 and U20 which are transparent, but it might take some research to come up with age-specific records.

Some Russian media reported that many Canadian players had celebrated their win against US with girls in the local pubs. According to Google translator, Taylor Hall and Ben Hutton were among the most active vodka drinkers and dancers.

Regardless of the credibility of this rumor, I think it was a clever move by the Oilers to send McDavid to Russia - they've always known how to provide mentorship to their young players.

Girls and drinking?!?! Let's hope none of our Flames are doing any such thing. Could you imagine?

Laine is a beast, 6pts in 2 games.

Toronto may have won the lottery but Winnipeg may be the biggest winner.

I think the point here is that there is a place and time to do these things. They are athletes after all..

Well a bar after a hockey game seems like a pretty good time and place.

One of the mentioned players has a reputation of showing up at the bars a lot after games during the regular season. When does it not seem like "a pretty good time and place"?

There are too many terrible teams in this tournament to get excited about point totals in the early games
