Hopefully it doesn't take him as long as Lang to find his game at the NHL level. Lang wasn't really much of an NHLer until he was 28 or 29.

I don't see any downside to this signing. In The Show or on the farm.
Whoever is scouting Czechia is working hard.

Then I'll be pleased if he's anything better than an ECHL third liner. Thanks NHL16 for helping me set my expectations realistically.

NHL16 probably isn't the best source, but BT is a pretty good one. He was on the FAN960 and said to keep the expectations in check. Basically likened his chances to any other prospect and strongly hinted that he would start in the AHL. Still young and will need to learn the NA game.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

BT also said that the signing may have to wait until after the World Championships, but that it depends on the player. He said that Pribyl had a "better than average chance" at being on the Czech team, which seemed to be linked to whether or not he could be signed first. Perhaps based on whether he had been invited or not?

I thought he said he wouldn't be invited because of the surgery. But there would've been a better than average chance otherwise.

@TSNBobMcKenzie 53s
As CGY media noted last week, Czech UFA F Daniel Pribyl has opted to sign a 2-year entry level deal with the Flames
@TSNBobMcKenzie 52s53 seconds ago
In fact, Pribyl flew to CGY to have ACL surgery done there. Should be good to go at some point early next season, expected to start in AHL.

Ugh. Sucks that this guy is going to be coming off a major injury as he starts his NA career.
At least he has time, and it's not a one year do or die scenario like it was with Cervenka.

2-year ELC. Noice.
Can't wait to see how he pans out.

Yeah, sucks he'll be starting rehabing an injury but seems like the Flames are already getting him nhl class treatment so hopefully he's good to go.

We have the Czech free agent market cornered.
Maybe we should take a run at this defenceman that's getting a lot of attention.
@DarrenDreger
Multiple NHL teams with continued interest in KHL defenceman Michal Kempny. Could agree to NHL contract as early as next week.
Of course Chicago is rumoured to be in the mix:

ACL surgery? That means he'll miss prospect camp and tournament. He might even miss the regular camp

It's possible, depends on his recovery.
For reference Francois Beauchemin finished the 2012-2013 season with a torn ACL then had surgery mid-May to repair it and played in Game 1 the following season.
