F that never cheer for the tank, especially against the oilers. If we lose, it'll just make the loss an easier pill to swallow, otherwise, let the cards deal themselves.
Our two best players and franchise guys are a 6th overall and a 4th rounder. I'll be happy with a top 10 pick, our smart GM making some smart moves, our smart president leading the charge, our solid coach managing the players.
There is no way I want our team to ever ever resemble the spoilers in any way.

It just seems that the Oilers are out of touch with todays NHL.

1) suck so long and so hard that McDavid falls in your lap
2) surround him with really slow plugs so he looks even faster
3) profit!

Well I hate having to defend Oilers moves but their lineup was way too small and soft to compete in the NHL. Adding a power forward like Maroon has really helped them. Kassian's size, skating and toughness also was an upgrade for them and their small, soft forward core.
Them adding size was actually them being in touch with today's NHL and the division we find ourselves in. Just like the Flames, the Oilers aren't going to be able to compete consistently against big teams like LA and ANA without adding some power forwards. They added a couple this year in Maroon and Kassian. Flames are going to need to add some size and strength as well.

I want the Flames to destroy these pukes tonight. Will help to ease the pain of a rough season.

Draft implications be damned! I always want the Flames to embarrass the Oilers. Always. I'll be representin' in the standing room only section! Go Flames!

Here's the problem though, the Oilers added a bunch of plugs. Maroon doesn't skate that well. Kassian looks slow.
With Anaheim and LA their size is in their skilled players more then anything else. Adding plugs with size isn't going to make you competitive against those teams.
The Oilers got slower that's all.

Maroon looks like a good pickup for the Oilers. 11 points in 13 games, +8 in that time, and most importantly - protects his teammates without a 2nd thought.

I can't imagine a more insulting scenario to a competitive athlete then being honored for failure.
FTR, I hope we utterly destroy them. Double digit win

Very much disagree. Kassian looks slow? Quite the opposite actually, Kassian is a terrific skater for his size, it's a strength not a weakness. Maroon was extremely hard to handle last playoffs. Maroon has 5 goals and 6 assists for 11 points in 13 games with the Oilers. How on earth is that a plug? We need more plugs like that I guess. It's okay to take the Flames homer goggles off once in a while when analyzing the Oilers.

Can't fathom how anyone who calls themselves a fan can "cheer" for a loss.
The recipe couldn't be more simple:
Cheer for your team as always, and then (at this time of year with the draft coming) accept the result afterwards without worry, win or lose.
"Cheering" for a loss is disgusting, and doing so against the Oilers? You should be ashamed of yourself if you have ever felt that way.

i know we need to lose for the matthews pick and all, but i just can't bring myself to cheer against the oilers winning in the last battle of alberta at the coliseum
I really cannot believe Coiler fans are still thinking this way. Guess the real goal in their minds is to ice a team made up completely of first overall picks. Pathetic!!!

Nah, I've reached a state of apathy for this season. She's a write-off at this point. Thank god the train wreck is almost over.

There's no state of apathy that makes cheering for the Oilers to beat the Flames acceptable.
Especially when with the lottery it really makes no difference from a draft position stand point.
You need to turn in your fan card, cause that's beyond brutal.

Internet sports fans. Serious business.
Really though, it's all good either way, I'm just having fun with it. Those who mentioned this is a win/win have it right. Can't go wrong with either result.
Flames will win though, can't see them losing to the Oilers with Ortio in net.

Try and pass it off any way you want.
This:
"It's for the good of the organization. It's one game, don't be afraid to admit it. You know you want it."
is embarrassing.

Meh, I'll be embarrassing too then. Im hoping the Oilers win for the good of our draft pick. I just don't care enough about this season anymore, and the Oilers are already a joke...beating them one more time won't change anything.
