In a weird, long-shot way, I see Ferland on a line again with Johnny and Mony, being the deterrent CP has been calling for. Perhaps this season he is playing through an undisclosed injury, or a nagging one at least. I think he has a lot more to show, yet, and such will be on the line next season.
Bring him back for another season. Next season he succeeds quickly or drops out of the roster by game 20.

I would like to see Ferland with more snarl in his game again, doesn't have to be full playoff mode but at least bring what Hathaway was. But at least there's still some untapped offensive potential for him once he learns he isn't Gaudreau and stops trying to be fancy.
Bollig on the other hand, toughness is literally all he brings, and he hasn't been bringing it.

Need more toughness out of Ferland, Bolig and Bouma. The only Flame that has played with some jam all season long is Engelland.
These guys are all too comfortable with their role on the team right now. Next year at camp it should be made clear to them that they are playing for their jobs IMO.

To answer the argument "well, you can't expect Ferland to play all regular season like he played against Vancouver in the playoffs" or "Hathaway can't play this way for more than a few weeks", I say - well, why do we need them otherwise? For the 5 goals and 10 points? Really, what the hell do we need Ferland for if he doesn't agitate or score? I agree he might have some untapped potential. But he should be tapping that potential in Stockton. We are way too attached to bottom-line players. Maybe we are over-compensating for trading the best one we had (twice).

Exactly. Why can't he play like he did against Vancouver? Maybe not every game because every player has off games but at least not once every 5 games. Even if he played half the games balls to the wall I'd be happy. It's no doubt he has some skill but that's not what's going to make him a career in the NHL.

Bollig is a roster filler... maybe a good guy in the room...as a players, he's been a disappointment for sure, even as a bottom 6 guy, you can't have a huge amount of expectations.
My biggest issue with Bollig is why on earth would you give up a 3rd rounder for a guy you can pick up on waivers?
draft picks, esp in the cap era, are like lottery tickets; you don't give them up for marginal NHLer's...
