Yep. It was ugly.

As it is, skating is the one (and only) thing Bollig would have an advantage on over the old-school enforcers and even alot of the face punchers of now.

Passing, shooting & stick handling wise he's no better (or worse) than most of them.

Most successful teams seem to have 3 scoring lines now and the 4th line is more like the old 3rd lines (if that makes sense).

Hathaway and Ferland are the perfect "new NHL" 4th liners IMO.

I don't see what makes Bollig a better hockey player than Rinaldo (or Boll). Sure, Rinaldo is a puke and he's smaller, but I don't see Bollig having more talent. If Bollig is only good enough to be a 26th place team's 13th forward, how much better is he really, than of those guys?

I think the gap between Sandy McCarthy and Bollig is much bigger than the gap between Bollig and Rocky Thompson for instance (with McCarthy being the best), but I'm not sure it's a very worthwhile debate. Who cares about who is barely good enough to be a 13th forward vs random goon? Doesn't change the fact that Bollig is not very good at his job, whether you're referring to him as an enforcer or a hockey player. Or both, whatever. The Flames can do better.
