Completely fine either way, but been shaving the head long before I was either. There are spots where the razor glides easier now though.

Sported the bald with grey chin MMF style beard for playoffs, but normally the smoother the better.

Wait, I just realized the wording of the thread title. I thought it was "what's better, bald or grey"? Which is clearly grey. But I see it's actually "grey early, or bald ever".

If my options are either going grey at 25-30 but keeping it forever, or having a full head of dark brown hair and then going bald in my 50s, I'm taking bald fo sho. A lot of women in their 30s and older seem to really like the shaved head look if you're doing it right. It's just the under 25 crowd that isn't really on board.

I've already been balding since I was 21, and not a fan of it. Thankfully the shape of my head means I can rock being bald.

Been receding for a few years now... I'm 25 now and I'll be joining the swim team soon, I'd rather be going grey.

There is nothing wrong with grey or bald...because we are men. But because grey has had many defenders in this thread, here's one for the cueballs.

I always hated "styling" my hair before I went out. I don't know crap-all about what looks trendy and I would stand in front of the mirror with hair gel, mousse, spray etc. for 15 minutes just making sure it didn't look funny. Does it look okay? Better check the mirror one more time before I'm out the door.

When it started to thin a few years ago, it wasn't that bad but I jumped ship anyways and shaved it. It was the best decision ever. In the past I had felt weird caring so much about how my hair looked; I don't like for men to spend any significant time concentrating on appearance. Anything that a man does for his looks that requires a certain amount of maintenance is too "pretty" for me. Call me old-fashioned, but not worrying about this crap is the luxury we reap as men.

I've never felt more myself. The once a week haircut, quick-dry scalp, and cooler summers are all just icing on the cake. Every man should experience a shaved head at least once in their life.

Try it. Shave your head. Then go out and cut down a tree and lift up a big rock. When you tell your co-workers you watched The Notebook, and liked it, no one will question your manhood.

Going bald early has been the worst thing that has ever happened to me and I spend a couple hours every day wishing that fate had hit me with pretty much any other affliction. If you're lucky enough to make it to 40 with hair I would ask you to both appreciate how lucky you are and to also stop being a dick to people less fortunate than yourself.

I've seen balding short men have crowds of women and male model looking dudes that scare women away like the plague. Your hair isn't your personality and that's what people really care about after the initial introduction.

That being said I've heard deep scalp massages from thyself helps stimulate growth. Just give your noggin a good rub, it'll help.

Super hot showers with the water right on your head makes you go bald. I went to the hairdresser when I was 25ish, she told me to stop the hot showers. The receding stopped completely and grew back normally with some head mos and no more hot showers on my head.

Balding is genetic, it has nothing to do with hot showers. If it did, there would be way more balding women running around.

The only thing that effectively reverses balding is a hair transplant and thats minimum 10 grand. Theres medication that has shown to be able to slow down the process but independent studies show that the medication only leads to about 10% more hair when compared to people who don't take it. Considering you have to take it daily or you quickly reverse back to the same pace of hairloss, it doesn't seem worth it. I cant imagine that its good for you to take what is essentially cancer medication daily, for the rest of your life.

I started showing grey hair at 23-24 just a few however by the time I was 30 it was even more noticeable. At 40 I was Salt and pepper with more salt.
Just recently I had to renew my drivers licence I was asked: address, eye colour, height,
(All the same as before ) then hair colour... The clerk said brown... I said well it used to be. He glanced up and said "white" Lol now my drivers shows my hair as white.
Now I'm freaking Gandolf !!!
Cool story Bro

I have game show host hair its just white.
For those of you balding or greying just go with it. You are who you are.

Neither are a concern for me.

But I would rather grey than go bald.

I actually have too much hair. I keep it close to the bone, and have to go every 3-4 weeks, b/c it get's far too long.

So, AcGold, do you only take cold showers???

Started losing my hair at 18, took the bic to it at age 19 and haven't looked back. In fact, I wish it would all just fall out for good so I didn't have to bother shaving. Although at this point I have it down to a fine science and usually do it twice a week.

Now, if I could start getting some strategically placed streaks of grey in my beard I would be a happy guy.

I don't think I could rock bald at all. My grey isn't really that noticeable but I don't like how I have a few strays on top of my head and when they get long they kind of stand out.

It's also a myth that if the men on your mother's side of the family lose their hair, that you will also inherit it. While it's true that the mother can carry the gene in a recessive form and then pass it on to her son, you can just as easily inherit your father's phenotype.

Not that anyone said that here, but I hear it all the time from people. Because my maternal grandfather was bald as a cue ball in his late 20s, I was told my would lose my hair. I'm 39 and it hasn't happened yet (knocking on wood).

I remember that old saying. Funny thing is that I grew up with a few guys that wore hats every day from teens into their 20's and they both went bald in their 30's. Coincidence I know but on the bright side when you wear hats so much nobody ever really associates you with your hair.

hockey helmets get blamed too. Lots of players seem to lose their hair early too.

Poor Sam Bennett is going to be forced to start BIC'ing it before he's legal to drink in the US!
