You mean if you didn't have kids?
Starting physical fights with strangers over being a bad example to your kids is not a good example to your kids.

Its actually refreshing to see a goalie wear stuff that he is comfortable with rather than promoting a "Brand".

Backstrom obviously doesnt have a sponsorship deal with any goalie equipment manufacturer so he's wearing stuff that he's comfortable with. I get it and quite like it!

The colours match though, so thats a positive. At least he isnt wearing his old Wild colours.

And I like the lid.

Pretty fun game to watch. Sucks to lose in the shootout like that. Pretty pathetic attempts from the Flames. Wish it was 3vs3 for 10 minutes and then a tie. Oh well.

I totally disagree on the Engelland comment. He is a boat anchor on that pairing. Causes Gio to be overly aggressive because he is compensating for playing with a 6/7 defense partner, which leads to poor overall results.

Not sure about the Flames feed, but on the Denver feed (which, by the way I thought was very generous in talking about the Flames throughout the game) they had a pretty clear picture of Ortio's stick between Iggy's legs - and then Orts waved his arms like "Who, me?" - which is a pretty good giveaway that it was totally intended.

REALLY liking Ortio. Enough that I don't want to trade good assets for another goalie. Hes perfectly capable. Who knows where we might be right now if he got more of a leash.

Perfectly capable of playing all 82 games?

Because what you're talking about, basically, is a tandem of Ortio and nobody.

I think what polak is saying here is that with Ortio finally breaking out as an NHL quality goaltender, he'd rather bring him back and round out the tandem with a UFA signing instead of spending assets to trade for another goalie, like Andersen, Murray, Bishop or Kuemper for example.

I'd be fine with having Ortio next year. As long as he's not the only basket we're putting our eggs in. Still would like to see Raanta or Andersen
