Ladd is better than Hudler but I definitely want to move Jiri at these prices.

The Hawks are so smart. They always make great moves at the deadline that push them over the top, right in time for the playoffs. It's basically cap circumvention and it's oh so smart.

Chicago could still take on a player with a 5-6MM annual contract this season with their cap space... interesting.

With these types of returns, I'd be holding out Hudler and Russell from playing.

General Fanager @generalfanager
With Ladd @ $2.816M annual cap hit ($681,290 the rest of the way), #Blackhawks to end season with $341,970 cap space, $1.59M on deadline day'
Chris Johnston @reporterchris
So CHI can add ~$1.6M on deadline day, and much more if they deal a buried contract (Scuderi/Bickell).

Hopefully this starts the domino effect and we see some trades pick up over the weekend!

Same here. It seems to me that their value could exceed what most would have predicted going into the deadline.

This has to mean Hudler gets a late first rounder, no?

This shows once again, that deadline deals are valuable and prices aren't going down.
But next year, the same people will make the same claims anyways.
Good deal for Winnipeg. Chicago gets a quality guy. You're up LA and StL - let the arms race commence!

Could be a great trade for both teams. Jets fans should be happy.

Geez. Dano listed as 185 lbs on some sites, but on the AHL site he's listed as 223lbs.
He sure filled out.

Just a random thought, would you deal Mason Raymond for Bryan Bickell?
Bickell has the same term on the contract as Raymond, but costs slightly more. Would bring some truculence to the 4th line.

Yes I would. Maybe try to get a late pick out of Chicago for the extra cap hit they'd be saving.

Q just didn't seem to like Dano, or his backchecking effort...and as Anisimov seems to be the long missing #2C, the trade for Saad hasn't been a complete disaster.
