There's no way I'd mention that "undercoverbrother says I can get my meat rare"

Sounds like a good way to get a wang in the mouth

Is Odessy Pizza still open on Bow trail?? Such a dump but man they made a good pie.
I hate Odyssey Pizza. They come out of the oven like one of those cheese wheels they roll down that big hill in England where you watch fat people chasing them down. Yes your abs are doomed.

There are a couple Sbarros if you want an autentico New York pizza pie (that's what italians call it!).

Every time I see a mention of Insadong, I read it as Instadong, where presumably you get a wang in the mouth as soon as you enter.

Nope, still completely destroyed. I'm not sure how they can even fix it. Total mess, and the river doesn't flow close to the bank at all now. Maybe 100m away now.

Are Scottsdale and Paradise Valley culinary destinations? I honestly have no idea, nor does it matter. Wasn't really talking about expensive stuff just not food court crap. peter12 might be right a nostalgia run could be interesting but one of those will do, not all.

Just find it strange how derisive you are when it comes to Canada and Calgary specifically, you seem to know very little about Cowtown, "Where are the hotels?" It's odd. You've made a big deal how magical and special Arizona is after following your parents there but the contempt towards Cagary boggles the mind. You can't help make passive aggressive jabs towards the city, you did it in the post I'm replying to, it's been fairly constant over what, a decade now?

Do the nostalgia run but explore the city you never did growing up and check out things off the beaten path. Don't go to Harvey's, head to Flip n' Burger. Avoid Swiss Chalet and try Minas Steakhoue in Eau Claire for an evening.

My two cents.

come on MMF, you know as well as I that this thread was basically just a backhanded thread aimed at Calgary.

I especially like how Jordon recently took the stance that he was never that big of a Flames fan when he was here.

Didn't he buy the domain romanturek.com?

Considering he lives in paradise, I'm not even sure why he'd want to show his girl this wasteland.

Came here to make this comment (even though someone else has already made it)-

You can get coolers at any liquor store.

Also... girlfriend? This thread is useless without pics.

Yup. Which is interesting that he started this thread today that has garnered so much attention because I almost used the word Jordan in another thread when describing magpies.

Considering he's talking about Westbrook Mall, traffic will be worse. The SW is the only part of Calgary where the ring road isn't completed...and won't be for many years. Glenmore is a gongshow every day around the area because of it. But as long as you don't go during rush hour you should be fine...also there's a new train station in that mall parking lot now, so if you're staying downtown or something and just going for a nostalgia visit, that may be the way to go.

And thank you for reminding me about My Donair. Was my go to in the 90s, been back for 2.5 years now and still haven't been, totally forgot about it. Actually didn't Chicken on the Way replace My Donair at the Southland location?

Seeing what you miss about Calgary really explains the Phoenix love affair.
