I say leave the goalie situation as is unless you can find a long term solution that makes sense or a low risk high reward situation. No stop gaps please. I'd personally like to see Ortio or Gillies getting time as well.
Terrible idea.
"OK guys, we know our goalies suck and we can't make the playoffs with them, deal with it. Go out there and try your best anyways!"
Completely deflating and would breed culture issues.
Disagree. You tell the team that they play to win no matter what, if anything tell them that they have to improve on the defensive side of the puck. Ortio hasn't been much worse than Hiller and Poulin could turn out to be good.
I think it's more deflating knowing what you have with Hiller. The team is probably thinking they have a chance to win as long as they don't give up a shot on net when Hiller is in.

We started this season off on the wrong foot because our goalies are middling at best, and none of them had time to find their groove. Ramo finally found his groove, and then he went down for the count. He was likely the only goalie of ours that had any value on the trade market.
Treliving and Hartley did this to themselves. You bounce around starters for the first 20 games or so, ride Ramo ragged until he gassed out, Leave Hiller in the weeds (rightfully so or maybe not) and let Ortio rot for a stretch until you waive him.
All this did was crush the confidence of two goalies, and now you're left with the two of them. Ray Emery would be a better option at this point.

I tend to agree with this. Ramos and Hiller are barely average in the best case. The way they've been handled this year, particularly at the start, set them up for the worst case.
the flames need to do what the penguins did in 1983 when they were tanking to get Lemieux, if a goalie puts together a couple of wins, they need to dispatch him to the minors right away. i am only half joking.
IF they can trade him Treliving's stock goes up. More likely they have to just play Hiller and give Ortio more and more starts as the year draws to a close. Then fix it in the offseason like they should have done last offseason. As for the draft does it matter who they put in the net? They both suck and our defense let's guys just sit in front of them so they can't see the puck half the time anyway. Plus with the refs out to get them they are looking at fighting with the Oilers for last place.
Eric Duhatschek:
"Developing a goalie who reaches his prime when the team is ready to challenge regularly for a playoff spot and beyond would be helpful for Calgary. But in the meantime, the last third of the season will give the Flames a chance to figure out who gets to be the interim guy to keep the seat warm for Gillies, the prospect they hope doesn’t miss."
Who's the guy to "keep the seat warm"? Cam Ward on short-term deal? I think I still like Antti Raanta.

Here I put this in the other goalie problems thread:
Jonas Hiller ($4,500,000) for Pekka Rinne ($7,000,000) 50% retained salary, 2016 2nd, 2016 3rd
Rinne is playing like trash right now with one of the worst Save% in the league. What's the risk for them sending him and that massive cap hit out of their division. He's 33 and his contract has 4 more years but it would be less than what Ramo and Hiller make now.
Hiller can't play worse that what Rinne is doing on a higher pay grade. If he plays great it's a win for Nashville.
If Rinne plays good and maybe gets close to his old form that's a chance for the playoffs and win for the Flames.
If Rinne plays terrible for the Flames it's a guaranteed top 3 pick for the Flames. And that's a win of its own.
