I wonder what's taking so long for them to make a call-up, especially if we're playing again tonight.

I'd like to see Ortio back up, and give him a chance to play a few games.
I don't mind if Flames trade for a goalie, assuming it is for one who they believe will be the starter for next few seasons. Don't want a mere rental.

Our playoff chances are pretty much out the window having to go with Hiller and Ortio. Ramo was our chance. But if Hiller can somehow channel his self from last season, we might have a chance.

Any similarities with the Giordano injury last year? They played it coy for a day or two (he even came out for warm-ups in game after he was hurt). I had thought they did it so as to not to tip their hand or show any weakness going into trade deadline.

Ramo is no Gio for sure but maybe they don't want teams to know how screwed they are in net? I guess that would only matter if they ere trading for a goalie for the stretch run.

Anyway, if they are trading for a goalie I certainly hope its not with this year in mind.

MRI today. We should find out more probably this afternoon.

I speculate that it is probably a torn ACL

Maybe it's just me, but I've lost all optimism hearing that they've waited this long for further testing - and to even say anything publicly about his condition.

This doesn't scream of 'minor, and back soon'. They know it's bad, and have already made the decision to shut him down for the rest of the season.

I feel bad for Ramo, I think he did a great job of bouncing back this year after the terrible start. But I look at that collision and that they had to probably wait this long for the swelling to go down, and I think his year is over.

The question is, because the crop of free agent goalies is so bad, do you try to sign him to a short term contract because of the situations with Ortio and Gilles development?

He might be the best option out there.

James Reimer is better, he's going to be available and he's a Burke player.

I wouldn't mind a reasonable 2 year deal with Reimer if no better options are available. Something to hold us over until Gillies or Ortio is hopefully ready. I would not re-sign Ramo or Hiller and go with Reimer/UFA, Ortio, Poulin and Gillies next season. Ortio and Poulin can fight it out for the back-up spot. Mason MacDonald can stay in the QMJHL for one more season.

I have no experience on the matter but should that walking stick not be in his other hand?

Nope. I'm not an expert, but my wife is, and one of her biggest pet peeves is when people improperly use their canes, walking sticks, or crutches. I've picked up on a few things as a result and I noticed right away that Ramo is using it correctly.

Yep. My dad couldn't watch House for many reasons, the incorrect way House would use his cane was one of them.

Huh, I'd never really thought about that before. I assume the point is to keep the weight on the side of your good leg the whole time?
