Gimme a break. It was classless. So are lots of things
Pat Roy and Joel Q giving it to the referees the other night were far more sincere in their aggression than what Kadri did.

Everybody calm down, I've got this.

Kadri: Dont do that. Now you've been traded to Edmonton.

I'll bet he'll never do that again. Or maybe he will. People in Hell are unpredictable. You kind of cant make it worse.

One game suspension. Precedent has been set, doesn't deserve anything extra.

Boom. Done. Simple.

Was at the game, Kadri totally lost his crap after that hit and threw a huge tantrum on the bench. I think Babcock finally went to him and told him enough already. Him getting owned multiple times in the game by Gio was definitely the highlight of the game ha ha. Made an otherwise boring game enjoyable.

The shift after the Gardner goal, Kadri throws one of his patented flying elbows at giordano after steaming down the near-boards.

Giordano ducks out of the way and Kadri goes flying Dustin Brown style.

Hilarious.

I agree, wish it was that simple though. This is a Toronto player though.

Guess we will see tomorrow! After all he was just rocked by a check and might not of been thinking clearly lol!

The double TO standard. I expect nothing!

Not sure which will bother him more, your response or the Kadri gesture.

Gio was a cool cat. He wasn't letting Kadri pass.

The whole death threat thing is total bull####. Didn't see it until the highlights. NHL wants high standards, how are death threats allowed at a game?

I say forget the suspension... just start up an #NHLFail channel on YouTube and post the throat slash followed by Kadri landing on his ass for the rest of the game. As we've discussed ad nauseum in the "benching" thread, embarrassment can be a powerful tool.

Fighting sells tickets and is usually voluntary by both players.

Gestures are way more rude than words and are far more obvious to notice and share on web.

To me what Kadri did was way worse than either fights or swearing. League should and probably will put some effort into removing such gestures from the game.

Suspension in the NFL, but you know what's funny? I've seen it multiple times on family feud.

Still laughing at the gesture. I kept thinking of Gio's reaction in Mr Burns' voice: "OOOO, Kadri is mad at me! I'm so scared! OOOO, Kadri!"

I doubt it bothered him but he knows if the refs caught it Kadri gets booted. He has to complain.

It won't. And either my memory is faulty, or KillerCarlson's is, because I don't think Kadri suggested the hit be reviewed during that post game scrum. He said that, in the moment, he felt his head took the brunt of it but that he was told by his team it was a clean hit.

And the throat slash will get something. If the NHL is wise, it will follow past precedent and suspend him a game. I wouldn't be surprised if it drops down to just a $5k fine though.

Default Kadri throat slash gesture. Suspendable?

Kadri is a little ####### and I hope they throw the book at him. Have some class bud you got rocked with a good clean hit by a good clean player when you had your head down. Just makes him look even more like a ######. Especially that he was still chirping at Gio after the intermission, when he probably saw the replay. Have some humility.

I loved all the fail attempts by Kadri trying to go after Giordano.

I think he should be benched a game for his little tantrum as he could have injured his own teammate throwing the door like he did, that to me is more dangerous than the gesture. Although I agree if a precedent has been set in the past regarding the throat slash gesture the league has to keep it.

Also as an aside partly in jest and partly in seriousness, I've never had a concussion so I'm not exactly sure all the particular ways they can occur but he did have his head down and even though it was a clean hit there still was contact with his head (due to Kadri putting himself in a dangerous position) shouldn't there have been concussion protocol discussions on this, especially with all the scrutiny going down with the Wideman incident?

Also anyone else think of this after Gio just stood Kadri up?

NSFW!

[Not sure if NSFW so done just in case]

That was my first thought. I've seen a couple guys get their arms broken in those doors and those occasions were accidents, not because their teammate was slamming the door like a maniac. If you want to have a hissy fit go down the tunnel and throw some sticks or kick a roll of tape but don't start dragging your teammates into it with the potential to injure them.
